Possible GTA Canadian Disney Meet-up

Happy Tuesday fellow Disney Canucks

So last night over dinner, my husband and I had a conversation about Disney meets in Canada. So I'm putting it out there. Would anyone be interested in doing a GTA Disney Meet in Brampton, Ontario?

My husband is part of one of the Legions in Brampton, so I could rent out the space, it would have plenty of free parking. Because I would need to rent out the space, there would be a fee BUT I was thinking would anyone be interested in doing a meet up where snacks, coffee, water, and pops are included? Plus a door prize?

I was thinking maybe charging a $10-20 door (anyone under 12 would be free) fee which would include snacks and beverages, a ticket for door prizes, and then any money left over would be donated to the Legion's Poppy Fund?

Would anyone be interested in this? If there's interest, my husband and I would love to try to get Disney vendors at the meet up, pin trading tables, and try to get some characters for pictures, etc. But we would need to really know if anyone would be interested in coming to an event/meet up like that. Otherwise, I don't want to spend all that money and have it be a bust

I feel like Canada pretty much gets the short end of the stick from Disney when it comes to Disney Fan events. I've been a D23 gold member for years and feel like they hardly do anything for Canadian fans. So this would be my way of trying to get us Disney nerds together under one roof

I already know of two other groups that do regular Disney meet ups in the GTA. I am always up for meeting other Disney fans, but for us it helps if there is public transit to the location available.

I'm in Brampton! Heart Lake! Would love to meet up but not positive if I could commit to a fee but possibly. Would there be a family discount? Would many have kids attending? Great idea and would definitely be in for something informal depending on days/times but possibly something like this as well. That probably doesn't help but was glad it was in Brampton and I might be able to attend

So I would assume many would bring kids. If it was at the Legion I would have to charge something to cover the rental fee, or I could try getting a restaurant to host but they would want attendees to purchase meals anyways. So that's why I was thinking, charging a fee could cover bother location and I would be able to provide snacks and drinks, and any money left over goes to the legion poppy fund because veteran organizations are dear to my heart (my hubby is a Bosnia/Afghanistan vet). Hmmm, good question about the family discount. Never thought of that. So far, we were thinking any kids under 12 would be free so long as they are with an adult. Also depending on the response, I might make this a more organized event. If there are many kids attends, I know a few character performers that would be happy to attend, perhaps vendors, but most importantly would be to get us Disney Canadian fans together in one room

According to my husband, I dream big and want to make this a magical meet up lol.

The location I'm thinking of would be a walk from a GoStation, and there are buses that stop nearby
