We will find out this week if dh and family are approved to make it to a conference week of Dec. 4th in WDW. Can't wait!!!!! :rotfl:

It is the BEST time to go to WDW!!!!! The Christmas decorations are up and the events are going, but the crowds are low! After Thanksgiving weekend the crowds usually diminish a lot and it is really nice to experience the parks with very little crowds. We have been at this time several times and we love it! Hope you get to go!!

Have a great time!!!

The ABSOLUTE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR to go to WDW! Cool weather, short or NO lines, The Halls decked out with holly...the Mickey Christmas Party..It snows on Main Street...the Osbourne lights @ MGM!

I hope you get plenty of responses, because I'm curious too! From what I've read and researched, it's one of th nicest times of year to go.

I'm going the week before and I had the same questions as I've never been there at that time of year. I haven't had anyone complain about it - I've only heard people rave about the weather (which can sometimes get to be quite chilly at night) and the level of crowds (which is very low - at worst, a 4 out of 10 according the the Unofficial Guide's website). The only slightly negative thing that I've heard is that Pop Warner is going on the first full week of December (please correct me if I'm wrong), so some of the value resorts have MANY excited kids.

Even so, I've hard that the Candlelight Processional and MVMCP are not to be missed. Enjoy! :goodvibes

We were there the first week of December last year, and it was very nice. It was a bit chilly though, especially at night, and I think we wore jeans during the day rather than shorts. The only big crowds we encountered were for the Osborn Lights and the candlelight processional; other than that, the crowds were light.

I just got an email w/ some really great rates from Jetblue for that timeframe. I have a nice size credit, and I've always wanted to go to see the holiday decorations. So, I'm thinking of taking a quick trip too. So, I'm interested to see what people have to say.

It's a great time to go, incredibly festive with all the holiday decorations.
DH and I went in early December back in 2002. The crowds were extremely low and we got to experience MVMCP which was awesome!

As others have metioned, the weather may get rather chilly, so just be prepared. In our case it was freezing for a couple of nights- I'm talking hats and gloves freezing!

After freezing our tails off one night watching Illuminations (ok, I admit- sitting on one of those cement benches in Japan didn't help matters) the following day we made a trip to one of the Nike outlets in the area and bought hats and gloves. The next night was much more enjoyable since we were all bundled up and ready for the cold.
