Possible First Time Renter Question About Availability.

Hiya!

I am planning a vacation with my family in December of this year. My exact travel dates are:

Check In: November 30, 2008
Check Out: December 7, 2008

I was considering renting DVC points and I was wondering if anyone would know what the chances are of getting an AKV Value Studio or Studio (preferably not a parking lot view) or a studio at SSR?

I am trying to gather info now so that I am ready to book by mid Feb. which is about 9-10 months in advance. This will be my first time renting points so I'm still trying to gather some info about it.

Offhand I would say your chances of getting AK are pretty slim unless you own there, and will be until the main DVC building is completed, but it never hurts to try! SSR would be a lot more likely.

I would guess that it may already too late. Reservations for those dates were available at the 11-month window, which means members have been making reservations since January 7th.

Your chances of an AKV Value are probably zero since there are so few of them and they have lower points.

Your best chance is an SSR Studio since the resort is so large, but again the time from Thanksgiving up through New Years is a very popular time.

We have stayed at SSR during that time with no problem booking. Certainly, less than the 7 months out and we own at SSR. You could always ask someone to make the ressie and transfer it to you.
