The following information is from screamscape.com:

2004 / 2005 - Forbidden Mountain - (6/26/02) While this may be another big nail in Beastly Kingdom’s coffin, Screamscape has just heard a major rumor that may form into a press release in the near future. We don’t know much at this point, but it seems that this will be the first “Mountain” attraction outside of a Magic Kingdom park. To be more specific, it sounds like this ride will be plopped down somewhere in the Asia area of the park and sounds as if it will be a heavily themed Mine Train coaster ride in and out of a giant mountain. We were also told that it sounds as if this ride may even have two individual but unique track layouts interwoven with each other, much like the famous Matterhorn at Disneyland.

Hmm.......that sounds slightly familiar

yup...does sound familiar

it would be nice but if they are adding anything I would love to have Beastly Kingdom(haha...like Mike would ever dish out the money for it!and no way Pressler would go with it! )

I was thinking this could be a rehash of the Excavator coaster. In that case, I would welcome a highly themed wooden coaster to the Orlando area! Otherwise, they really should push on with Beastly Kingdom... wodden coaster or Beastly Kingdom.

Sounds interesting....I think it would be too similar to other rides in WDW though. They are better off making a brand new type rollercoaster that is not in any of the parks.

That's the problem... what do you think Beastly Kingdom was basically going to be? It would be practically IOA's Lost Continent. IOA beat them to the punch, got both Dragon and Unicorn rides, and left Disney scratching their heads. If they were to go forth with Beastly Kingdom, it might be conceived as copying IOA. I've heard somewhere before if it was too similar, it might result in a lawsuit. Where Forbidden Mountain may be too similar to Thunder Mountain, Beastly Kingdom may be too similar to Lost Continent. I think Disney, whatever they do, needs to be new and impressive. We'll see...

rocketman - all the talk about the possibilty of disney bein sued for beastly kingdom was just a lot of talk, with no real basis to it. beastly kingdom would be totally different from the rides in IOA. the ones in IOA are just plain regular roler coasters, whereas disney would make seriously themed, and therefor completely different rides having to do with dragons or unicorns. plus, it doesnt have to be dragons, it can be other creatures. there are plenty of them to go around. i was told that beastly kingdom should be open to the public during 2006.

Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me that Dueling Dragons is not seriously themed????? Maybe the suing deal is false, I don't know, but I bet that is one of the reasons Disney has held off. I'm not saying it's the entire reason, but the similarity probably one of them.

WOW! I REALLY HOPE THAT THIS RIDE COMES OUT SOON!!

Thinking back to a very old Jim Hill article, I think the story behind Beastly Kingdom and Dueling Dragons was that Disney had the idea of a dragon coaster first, but then half the imagineers who'd designed it were fired (more of Eisner's cutbacks). The imagineers went to work for Universal, and used their original ideas for Disney in IOA. Disney could still build Beastly Kingdom without being sued, but there'd be a lot of backlash about them 'copying' Universal.
