Possibility of Evening Extra Magic Hours at Animal Kingdom in August?

I'm watching day by day as hours from Disney are released, and I'm curious about what we may see for evenings. Touring Plans is predicting evening extra magic hours on August 17 while Kenny the Pirate says 8:30. The actual dates are looking like 9pm on a consistent basis. Now I'm wondering if there is any chance of extra magic in the evening during August? Have we seen it in the past?

I don't think they are going to bring back evening EMH at AK. They haven't brought back even 1 night since they stopped the ones they started from Pandora opening. If they were, Holiday season would have been a good time to do it, even if they didn't make them AS late as those were last summer. The fact that they didn't even once I'm afraid they are gone for good. Sadly.

This is kind of sad in my opinion. With Pandora being such a visually enticing area after dark, plus the street parties, ROL, Awakenings of the Tree of Life, and the evening safari, I don't understand why they don't have extended evening hours at the park now. Seems silly to offer so many entertainment options for after dark, and then not keep the park open after dark.

Yep. One of the biggest disappointments I have in Disney quite honestly. No reason to eliminate the PM EMH at AK totally.
Understand completely why it's no longer nightly but to do none? Don't get it

I agree with @AngiTN on this - only MK and Epcot have EMH at night these days. AK and DHS each have been getting 1 hour of morning EMH for the most part - and, while it could change, there's no indication that it will. If anything, DHS might get some EMH love this summer at night for the opening of Toy Story Land (similar to what they did last year for Pandora) - but I wouldn't even put bets on that happening. They may extend hours at AK, but probably not add EMH.

Which is a bit of a shame - like the rest of the parks, AK takes on a different character and feel at night. And AK is impressive when the sun goes down - I could spend hours in Pandora after dark. They spent quite a bit of effort recently to make AK a nighttime park - I'd love to see them take advantage of that further with regular late night EMH in the rotation.

What are your dates? Odds are pretty good they'll extend the hours between now and your trip

Mid-July! I'm hopping they will be extended. Last July, hours were through 10 pm, and then 2 hours of EMH. Given that it's July it would make sense to extend to 10 pm. You just never know with Disney these days...
