With all these changes and adjustments(admittedly I am having a more difficult time planning for our June trip than in the past) I was just presented with a tiny bit of personal pixie dust pixiedust:
My almost 17 year old just randomly texted me (from study hall lol) and said, "How excited are you to be walking around Epcot in the hot weather, with music playing, and eating Kakigori?" I can honestly say I feel proud :goodvibes We love the headliners and the newest/biggest shows and attractions but THIS is what it is all about  Good for her!! Looking forward to such a seemingly small and simple experience...That's what makes Disney the truly special place that it is :)

That's super sweet. Some of our best memories are checking out all the giant icons at the All Star resorts.

Its all about being together! I am going in March with DD'S 14-17 for a girlie grad trip. My girls are most excited about just being there as well. I explained FP+ to them said "what do you want me to book?" their answers.... " DD14,"I don't care" , AndDD17 "doesn't matter to me" followed by BOTH saying"WE ARE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!we don't care what we do as long as we are there together" made my heart smile!

Wonderful thread :goodvibes

I could not be more excited about our May trip, just bought our plane tickets tonight. We will get to ride plenty I'm sure. I'm just so happy to know that I will be with my family.

:thumbsup2 one of the best threads in a while, my DS15 and I just convinced my wife to go in August. She is not so fond of the August heat, and the one thing that he kept telling her is that we will have fun it's Disney World :) again just happy to be there...

This is so true! I'm so excited about our upcoming May trip...

Already I am really feeling awesome about FP+. Mainly, cuz I was always the "runner" before. I would get my family to AK, fight w everyone in line, then run off to Everest to grab tickets while they go to the Safari. Same thing at every park. I end up missing the most magical time of the trip -- those opening moments when your family is walking down the main aisle and your kids are taking in everything the park has to show them.

This time... I sit behind my computer 3 months in advance pulling those tickets. When we get to the park -- we will NEVER have to split. I don't have to ditch my wife w the kids while I run off to get tickets. I've already got perfect touring plans worked out for our dates. :D

So far for Epcot, we've been able to pick our FP's (the Epcot glitch) and I absolutely love the 2 days I've put together! We see everything we want, with the rides we want to do twice, twice... and have tons of time for walking around and eating.

Everything is awesome!

(Our trip starts off w LEGOLAND, so I'm sure that will be the theme song of this trip!)

It is really cool... My wife is excited, and the other party we're going with is excited too. It's the most anyone I've travelled with has been into the planning! You bring this stuff to ppl's phone and suddenly even non-techhies are having fun w the app. :D

I love this! While our trip wasn't as perfect as past trips I still managed to take it all in and just enjoy being there. When we were walking out of HS after EMH last Wednesday I kept turning around and looking back. My boyfriend asked, "Are you taking it all in?", to which I replied, "Ya, I know we won't be back for a while." As I walked out I tried to absorb as much of the Disney atmosphere as possible. It's a moment I won't soon forget. :)

That's so sweet. I'm so excited to go in May. I can't wait to try out the FastPass+ system.:goodvibes

Experience from my kids (older yet) tells me you may have many future trips with her. :thumbsup2

One of our best memories of our WDW vacations wasn't even really Disney...
2006, eating dinner at Fulton's (window seat), and seeing the space shuttle taking off into the night sky!

Funny how we remember the "small stuff" when all we do is plan for the "big stuff".:p

So True! And I admit, I am a planner! (Spreadsheets and notes galore!:crazy2:) But, I always tell my kids "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and enjoy the experience". So far, so good! A freshman in college, a junior in high school , and a freshman in high school and they all just go crazy when it's time for a trip! When things don't go as planned, We roll with it and simply find something else to enjoy. To me, that's why Disney is the perfect and most magical place :)

We were just talking about this the other day. Never really remember the rides. The cool stuff is character interaction. The meals together. Almost all our Disney moments have nothing to do with how many rides we accomplished. We are rd, uber planners, go all day, no sleep Disney people. So really we have gotten bored with riding so much that we just are not that worried. November can not come soon enough.

I am in the same boat as far as planning a trip for June. Good tax return means myself and son get to make first trip back since my divorce. We are also staying on-site for the first time ever.

I am such a mixed bag right now. We are very excited about talking about our roadtrip, the parks, and most things that go with. Getting excited about Columbia House, Biergarten, and so many other things we have done in our 8 trip. He is already thinking about what pins to take down and trade. He is 11 and really excited.

I am holding back judgement of the FP+ for now, and this is one area that I will have to temper him (and me). The three limit is the thing that is sort of crushing my Disney high. We never abused the system, but sure knew how to use rope drop, good timing and FP to ride Big Thunder, Splash and so many other multiple times. Not sure if we will get as many rides in....but you know what.....we are going to do our best to have apixiedust: time.

When we get back we will judge then how FP+ works in peak seasons.

I loved your post - this is exactly what my now-adult kids would say about Disney. The sheer experience of being immersed in the magic together as a family is precious!

I still chuckle at my DD's (11) memories of past trips... cotton candy and face painting!
Seriously??? I've spent months planning a "perfect" vacation; The hours spent on these sites looking for info, oodles of notes and spreadsheets, and money saved for those extra add-on's and souvenirs that costs a small fortune, just to make long lasting memories.... and all you want is cotton candy and face painting?!?":rotfl:
:rolleyes2

But you know what... that's what I remember too! ;)

Oh well, it's part of the fun!:cloud9:

I love seeing these posts. I understand people want to share the bad with the good, but I feel like all I have been seeing lately is the bad. My family likes to go and enjoy all of WDW, not just the rides. If we don't get to do something there is a moment of disappointment and then we are onto the next thing, just as happy as before.:goodvibes

My tough as nails, hard to please 15 DD recently added a slew of classic Disney songs to her iphone, and took a photo for her phone of the count down calendar I recently made for our trip. She's been pinning Disney things on pinterest to show me. Makes me so happy that she is looking forward to this trip as much as I am!!
