Please don't flame me for this, but whoa! Everything I am reading seems to be sooooo negative on this board and the regular dvc board! Anyone have a good time or enjoy their DVC vacation recently? If so, please post - this is depressing. I was there in February, and while nothing in life is actually truly perfect, my DVC vacation was a close to it as one can get - again! CM's - awesome, Room - amazing - Food at every restaurant we chose - delicious! MK tour - everything I hoped it would be, weather - perfect, crowds - so what.... We had a wonderful DVC vacation, and can't wait to do it again :cool1:

I have always had a great time: OKW, BCV, BWV, HH. MS has been great. I am still glad to own DVC. My only negative experiences have been with some of the threads on this forum. :earsboy:

It only appears negative because those type of posts tend to stay on page one for a long time. If you post a glowing report you'll get a handfull of pixie dust replies and in an hour or so your thread is on page two.

Most folks only post when things go bad or they are unhappy. (And in some cases I figure that they are just the unhappy type) Boards like this are never a true reflection of what is going on.

Why must your criticize others and claim they are negative? That's very negative of you......

:rolleyes1 ;)

Only replying to the threads I'm reading - I like happy thoughts :earsgirl:

I loved the whole Disney experience at the BWV a few weeks back. I was a bit hesitant after everything I read, but I was very pleasantly suprised. We had a wonderful time.

I had 13 DVC vacations, no real complaints (6 OKW, 6 BWV, 1 VWL).

After only 3 DVD trips, and with 2 planned for this year, I'm very happy. Every time I go to WDW I am always amazed with how smoothly things run. I know rides malfunction, we don't always get our top room picks, people have bad days, etc. It's not like it's closed for several months like Six Flags. When you think about how it's one of the top vacation destinations in the world and it never, ever closes except for the worst of circumstances, it's amazing how well the place is managed. That's my opinion at least. The best thing about DVC is we know we always going back.

We were there in February also, and like OP we had just a wonderful time. We would never be able to visit WDW so often or to always stay in such wonderful accomodations without DVC. DH and I often say that this is the best thing we've ever done. We love the special times we spend with our children at WDW. We are very happy DVC members! :)

There are many "positive" posts and reports, but as mentioned they don't stay around very long because they don't generate any replies that keep them on the front page for very long. If 2 people stayed at the same resort at the same time and one of them posted an "everything was great" report and the other posted an "everything was awful" report, the "awful" report would linger on the front page for a week or so, while the "great" report would be gone by the end of the day. It's the way the boards work, but don't make the mistake of thinking everything that's posted is negative. Look at recent pages other than the front page and you'll find all of the positive stuff you can handle.

If enough people post "negative" reports about one resort, that makes it just that much easier to get a unit there. Some of the 'old timers' know there is no such thing as a bad DVC resort, so some try to make their favorite 'look bad' so they can improve there odds for their next visit.

Just another way of looking at those "bad' reports.

We leave in a few days (phew, i need it!).. anyway - i bought my annual passes on the website, received them yesterday - and called DDE today and already have my fax... I will say that I've had some great customer service lately from CMs.

I am so confident that i will have a good vacation i would even put money on it!!!!

I'm guilty of not posting positive trip experiences. If I posted everytime I had a good experience I'd be here so much that I wouldn't have time to plan my next trip. So for me it's a necessity that I don't post positive reports.

But, since I'm here I will say that we've been members since January 1995, stayed on points more than 30 times and we've tried all of the DVC resorts at WDW. We couldn't be happier with our DVC buying decisions.

Our most recent trip was at OKW 1 bdrm for 1 week in March 2005. I would rate that trip as EXTRA perfect. The front desk at OKW not only were able to give us the building we perfer but, they gave us the EXACT villa we prefer. You can't beat that. We noticed none of the phones in the villa were working so using my cell phone I advised maintenance and they sent someone within 30 minutes. Although the phone issue did result in my needing to wait to access my email via dialup it didn't ruin my vacation. Weather was just ok but that certainly isn't a DVC issue.

The trip prior to that was at SSR 1 bdrm for 1 week in January 2005. I would rate that trip just perfect. The front deck was able to give us a villa overlooking DTD and we watched the fireworks from bed. Can't beat that. I found SSR to be very nice. We like to relax at the quiet pools and found the SSR quiet pool to be the most elegant we've seen at WDW. Weather was great on this stay.

I could go on and on. No, things aren't always perfect. No, we don't always get the building, view or the villa we want. Once housekeeping hadn't noticed clothes left in the armoire from another guest, once the vaccuum cleaner didn't work, on several occassions we noticed clothing left in the washer or dryer. These things didn't ruin our vacation. When we see things that aren't right we advise maintenance or housekeeping and they make it right.

Overall I would rate 20% of our trips as good, 30 % very good, 40% perfect and 10% better than perfect (meaning better than we have a right to expect, eg., when a CM performs beyond what we expect of them).

Sometimes I wonder if our attitude is influenced by being old timers. We've owned at OKW for a decade and approximately 90% of our trips are at OKW.

DeeCee, Thank you for saying something, I was about to. Can't believe the negativity (probably get flamed).
We have never had a less than magical experience, in all the years we have visited WDW, staying in either DVC resorts or non-DVC resorts. Nothing is ever perfect.
I think the negative posts get more attention and the positive ones are glossed over.
