So who here has dined at Coral Reef and had a positive experience (good food, good service, etc.)?

I just booked an ADR for our upcoming October trip.

I've gone everytime I visited the last three years and have plans to go again in the fall. I really enjoy it - the food is great and the atmosphere is amazing - LOVE the aquarium!!

We ate lunch there in March and it was wonderful. The food was really good, our server was excellent and the overall atmosphere was great. Our boys were both extremely cranky that day and our server went out of his way to cheer them up. Brought them out light up captain hook's and a light up tinkerbell for DD, gave them extra soup for free (both boys loved the lobster soup), brought them out some toy items from the back. It was one of our better meals.

We  the Coral Reef. The food is great, the deco of the restaurant is different, and the aquarium is interesting and entertaining. We believe it is at least a must try restaurant...now it's a must do for us! My personal favs is the lobster soup and the catfish! Yummy every time.

We plan on trying it in March. I had one spot left to fill for the Epcot area (we already have Biergarten adn LeCellier on the list) and that one won out becuase of the atmosphere. I think the kids are going to enjoy it.

we took my parents to Coral Reef this past spring , and it was really , really good, Service and food excellent. I had been there once before and that expperience was really good. The chocolate wave dessert is a must have dessert! Enjoy :cool1:

We love it there. Ate there twice, and always have great service, and a great meal! If you like steak get the strip!! SOOOO flavorful.

We have eaten there twice (2007 and 2008) and enjoyed it both times. My children (4yo and 6yo) love it. They always ask for the lobster bisque soup when there.

We loved it there! The cajun catfish was excellent!!

The Coral Reef was the first TS meal of our trip on Thursday, July 16. We loved it. We were seated right next to the aquarium. Our 9 y/o son was just mesmerized by the fish swimming 9 inches away from him. Something at the table told us the glass was 8 inches thick so he said the fish were 9 inches away. Really, how often do you get to eat while watching sharks, rays, and sea turtles.

I don't remember what I ate. Some kind of fish, not the catfish. It came with something red that was okay. The fish was very good though.

I think it was this:

Pan-seared Ahi Tuna
with Cranberry-Bean Galette, Red Pepper-Fennel
Compote, Serrano Ham, and Tomato Jus 25.99

The tuna was good. But the aquarium was fantastic. This was one of our favorite meals.

i had my birthday lunch at the Coral Reef last month have to say it was the best lunch i have ever had. I had the tilapia which was delicious and the creme brulee which was sooo goood! my children also loved their meals one had the mahi mahi and the other had the mushroom raviolli and they had gellato desserts.we also got lucky and had a seat by the tank. just loved it!

Excellent - thanks for all the great replies.

We're not seafood folk either, but it seems they have a good variety of other items.

Does anyone know, from the pictures I've seen, it seems only tables of 4 are seated by the aquarium windows. We'll be a table of 6 - so does that mean we're out of luck for a table right by the window?

Thanks!

We ate lunch there last August. Service was fine. I had tilapia over salad and it was very good. DS liked his pizza. The atmosphere is very nice. No complaints here.

We love it! We have eaten there for the past 4 trips. :)
We love the lobster soup.
Dh loves the Mahi Mahi with the cashew/pineapple jasmine rice.
The steak is wonderful...melt in your mouth.
I also enjoy the lobster salad at lunch.
This past June I had lobster raviolis that were very good.
They have a pina colada type smoothie that is wonderful.
The creme brulee is excellent.
The atmosphere is beautiful!
:goodvibes

We walked right into CR last September (during free dining) and were seated (party of 4) in one of the half circle booths at the "top" of the restaurant. If I remember right, it looked like most of the lower level tables and ones right next to the tanks were 4 seaters, maybe they pushed several tables together, but I don't recall.

But, we thought we had the best view because we were facing the aquarium, whereas everyone else had to turn sideways to see, and we had a panoramic view of the entire tank, not just a small portion!

:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:

I hope that gives you an idea as to how much we love Coral Reef.

The food, the service, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

The only thing I would warn someone dining at the CR about would be the noise level. Kids screaming, "Turtle!" or "Sting Ray" every time one of the animals comes into view can get a bit noisy. ;) Furthermore, the place is just built to be noisy- glass, ceramic tiles, cement.... it just screams out that it echoes. If you go in expecting this, it will be less of a shock.

LOVE Coral Reef. Especially the creme brulee on the dessert menu. The first time we ate there we got a seat in front of the aquarium and we are a party of 5 so there is hope for you.

the first time i went to coral reef was last october.

i could kick myself now for waiting so long to try the restaurant.

i avoided the CR for many years due to the negative posts about the place.

if i would have known how great the place was, it would have been the first adr i would have made in those past years.

i don't do fish at all, with the exception of fried shrimp.

you do have choices on the menu.
the steak that others raved about know what they are talking about!
it is delicious!

the service was wonderful when i went last year.
my server suggested the chocolate wave as the dessert, so i tried it.
it wasn't to my liking. the server noticed i hadn't hardly touched it and asked why. i told her i didn't care for it and it was not a problem.

she returned to my table and brought a different dessert for me.
such a sweetie!

i was so impressed with last years food, it was one of the first adrs i made for this year.

try coral reef.
you'll like it...

I am so pleased to see all these great reviews! I too had read a few too many negative posts about CR but wanted to try it anyway. The atmosphere is just too cool to pass up! We are not seafood people either, but it sounds like that steak will be just the ticket!:thumbsup2
