Search function is down so if there was already a thread on this I didn't know.

Seems like a lot of negitive post lately and its scaring some people from becoming DVC'ers.

Could we try to make this thread a positive thread ONLY--OK here goes:

Just had our second trip as DVC'ers to VWL-BWV (home) and we were very happy with our experiences. Our rooms were great even though we didn't get our requests. After this last trip we decided that to much is centered on these requests. We have 39 more years to have our requests honored. We'll still make requests and hope for the best. All CM's we talked to were very nice and helpful. Had a great time around the boardwalk and ESPN club. Watched fireworks from bench by Atlantic Dance and had a great time. Going back for F&WF in Oct:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Glad you enjoyed your visit. Sometimes the saying "be careful what your wish for, for you may get it" is true here. There are so many wonderful rooms in DVC that even when you don't get all your requests, you can still have a pleasant surprise.

F&WF is my favorite, and the reason we have just added on BCV points.

Thanks for your post.

Resistance is futile!!!

:p ;) :) :p ;) :) :p ;) :) :p ;) :)

LOL - Good idea

We are very happy with our DVC @ BWV. On the very rare occasions that we needed help they were great about fixing it.

Had a great experience at OKW and they even let me pick my choice of the 1BR unit from 6 different possibilities - picked #1723 and was very happy - so my first DVC experience was 100%+ positive but if something negative comes up it will get press as well

Was one of thebest family decisons we ever made.ºoº

Well, if the search function were working, all you'd have to do is a search on the words "add on". That huge list of threads would tell you something about general satisfaction levels with DVC.

We've had two trips...VWL and BWV. Both awesome. :)

Actually I am not sure the search function will allow any searches for words that are 3 letters or less...which is very frustrating as so many people use 3 letter abbreviations about resorts, etc...

All you'd have to do is look at the bookshelves in our family room, or the wall in our lower level, or the scads of albums everywhere to know what DVC has done for our family.........made it possible for us to make lifetime memories every year in the most magical place I can think of.

Love my DVC! The only room request we've ever made is non-smoking. We figure a room is a room and we don't spend enough time in it to worry about what our view is. If you put on your "Disney eyes" everything is wonderful!

:D OK, positive post. We joined DVC at its inception. We make the same two requests each time we go {over 100 visits} non smoking and ground floor due to partial disability. We have received those requests 100% of the time :p Now, :( . Having said that,
If you should ever want to get back to negative posts, I have them as well. :( :(

My family loves their investment in DVC. We bought a quality product and we get quality service. If we did not, we would sell.

Yes we have had problems. It would be impossible to go year after year and not experience some. They were handled to our satisfaction and we experienced more good trips than ones that encountered any problems.

Most of my trips to OKW have been very poistive lately because I know where the negative things are and deal with them. For example the buses at OKW are terrible so I drive to most of the parks. The last time I took a bus was at AK, waited 20 minutes then sat there 10 minutes more after the bus came, then we drove to a water park, so I just don't use the buses. At check in I often have another place to stay the day of check in so I won't be without a place to stay while I am waiting for the 4 o'clock bell. Yes I double book, giving me two places to stay on Sunday night. Oliva's used to be a place to avoid, but it has made a small come back in recent trips. I don't eat dinner there so Olivia's has become a positive experience also. I try to go when there is very few people at OKW and WDW but I am going this July:( , I don't like that but I am doing this for a guest. All and all over the years I have learned that avoiding the negatives can make for a very positive trip and I usually do have a very nice trip because of it. There is more but you get the drift.

Some of those negative posts get me sometimes and I'm a member.

We just love Disney. There's not much that can happen to get me in a bad mood...especially when I look over at the kids and see what a great time they are having.

One time the smoke detector malfunctioned at 3am and got us all jumping out of our bed from the sound. It didn't go off for 20 minutes, until the tech came and disconnected it. The funniest part was after 15 minutes of noise, I called the front desk to see where the tech was, they said 'let me connect you... HAVE A MAGICAL DAY'. They said this with all the noise and me yelling over the sounds. It was FUNNY (after the fact of course) .

Yeah I wasn't happy but it wasn't anyone's fault. We got a free dinner for 5 because of it which was nice.

Rooms? What's the percentage of 'so called' bad rooms in the DVC chain of resorts? Some 'dumpster' and 'service road' views? Even though on the last two occasions we did not get the exact type of room we requested, the rooms still were great.

So everything works out.... Enjoy!

We've been to BWV four times and BCV once. We really haven't gotten the view we requested but have been pleased every time. On a whole I have never run into rude or nasty cast members. On our last trip over Easter at BWV we had a problem that happened at home (our son's stolen car was recovered and it's in my name). The staff was so helpful in typing, notarizing and faxing a letter to the police department for me. The staff at Community Hall is great. My DS would spend the entire trip there if we let him.

I suppose there has been small problems but I really don't remember them because I am so darned happy to be there and feel very lucky too.

It seems that the staff is usually really willing to try to make our stay very magical.

We had such a bad time at Disney last year at Xmas and NYE, we decided to spend Easter there also. And we couldn't even enjoy that trip so we spent Thanks giving there. The only good thing about is we are only spending Thanksgiving there this year. If had to go three times in one year I do not know what I would do. Let me see........Let's see how we can fit in a forth trip on those AP. If you haven't figured it out by now, we love Disney and we even added on this year. I hope this helps.

This is us. 2/2002, 5/2002, 10/2002, 12/2002, 3/2003 & 5/2003. Our next trip is sooooo farrrrr awaaayyy (11/2003). We love just being in the boundaries of WDW. Our request are Non-smoking (allegies) and any others we understand are just request and not guarantees and we accept that (so we can experience other areas of the resorts).

We've never even encountered an unpleasant CM or bad experience and if we did I don't remember. As said before, how can one be on vacation in Disney and not be in a positive mood. :D

Hmm, good/bad experiences at DVC. We joined early in 1992 just 4 months after they started selling. The first impression was wow they really do care about guests (both member and non-ember guests). And I haven't been disappointed since. Little glitches-yes-usually quickly taken care of. The warm 'Welcome Home' greeting, ;) , the lovely views, the great times, the knowledge that I did something so wonderful at the beginning! And I have 39 years more enjoyment ahead!
I love Olivia's conch chowder, omelets and brownie sundae. And once I had the best grilled grouper sandwich made with the special of the day! I am drooling just thinking about that sundae!
I think it is the little things, the Welcome Home, the smiles, and the sense of belonging that help to make it so wonderful.

We've been DVC'ers for just a little over a year now. On our first trip last August, we stayed at OKW in a 2 bedroom . It was absolutely wonderful! My 2 DD (ages 6 and 10 at the time) cried when it was time to go home. My DH (who doesn't usually get excited over accomodations) loved it. Our first encounter with a CM was at the guard shack as we drove up. When he said "Welcome Home", it was the beginning of our wonderful week at Disney. Not one complaint.
We will be headed to Disney for our 2nd trip as DVC'ers at the end of June for the 4th of July week and will be staying at BCV. I am expecting a wonderful experience there as well.

We joined at the very beginning, they had just finished the main pool! We have made over 40 trips and still can hardly wait for the return trip back!! There have been a few negatives! But nothing can compare to all the positives! OKW is our haven from the real world!
