Portraits from Photos at Beach Club

I am going to be at the Boardwalk at the end of May. My husband passed away 8 years ago and, of course, Disney was our favorite place. We have been DVC members since 1995. I will be coming with my children in honor of our 50th wedding anniversary. I have read that there is a place at the Beach Club that will do portraits from pictures, and I would like to have a picture of my husband done for my children to give to them when we are there. Does anyone know anything about that? Is there a website where you can see samples or order ahead. I called Disney and was given a phone number, but no one answers the number. Has anyone had this done that could give me more information?

The artist is next to the store if I remember correctly. The examples on display seem nicely done.

I think the Grand Floridian has something along those lines. I know that Wilderness Lodge has an artist but those are more caricature drawings than replicas of photos. I also think there is something at Downtown Disney along these lines. I'd ask Guest Services when you arrive.

Yes, at the Beach Club right off the lobby near the elevator and side (?) entrance to the Marketplace.

We had a pic of our son who was 10 made a few years ago by one of the artists at the beach club named Echo
when we first saw the result, he was fatter than in real life.
We went back and asked her to fix it and she explained that it's hard to get a real image from a pic. She made some changes but we were never fully pleased with the result, which I think cost about $250 at the time.

We were just down ther and saw that another artist was displaying her work so you may be OK

I had a portrait of my daughters made by a picture that I brought with me back in 2007. She did a very good job. The clothing had to be changed but she discussed it with me ahead of time. I believe she does a lot of her work at home so it might not answer her phone if she is busy.

We had almost the same situation with Echo. I would not personally recommend her.
There is someone different at Beach Club now. I have not used this new person yet, but her work looks good.
