I will be staying at Portofino next week and I am trying to figure out the best way to get from the resort to Epcot for the day. I'm guessing cab, but does anyone have any other ideas. We won't have a car and it is just 2 adults. Also, if you can give me a guess on the price, that would be great.

I think you can get a car service for just a bit more then the cab. Contact www.sunraytransportation.com and see what the price will be. You can e-mail Bob and get that info fairly easily. I think when we were considering a day a AK from PRP the price was $55 round trip.

When you call, make sure you ask about the drop off fee at Epcot. Taxis are charged $10 to drop off at AKL by the parking attendants at the parking booths. I don't know if the rules are the same at Epcot. It is not fun to have $10 added to your taxi bill that you didn't know about.

It costs about $30 for a one way trip from Universal to Disney via taxi.

Wow, getting charged an extra $10 doesn't sound right. I would even go to TTC if that were the case and take the monorail, or even go to one of the Epcot resorts and walk over.

paying the parking fee isn't right, but welcome to WDW. you could have the taxi drop you off at the closeest point, DTD. you could grab a Disney bus to an Epcot resort or the TTC from there for free.

That's what we did to get picked up -- since we learned that lesson getting dropped off. We actually took a bus from AK to the AKL and then a bus to Downtown Disney and got a cab from there. We got to look around at the AKL since we had never seen it and then we ate lunch at Downtown Disney. It is also cheaper since it is not quite so far between Universal and Downtown Disney.

While we were at AK, we stopped in at customer service to question the $10 drop-off charge and she didn't see anything wrong with it. I had thought that maybe if I handed in the receipt they would refund my money but no such luck.
