Hi all,

We will be staying at HRH the weekend after Thanksgiving. We are planning to spend one evening at one of the Portofino restaurants. We have four adults and 2 teenage boys. I know there are two restaurants, one family style and one more upscale. Could people tell me the differences between the two. It is most appreciated!

There is also Delfino Riviera on the second floor (wonderful), and a cafe type restaurant.

We have eaten at the family style..it is very good.

The other..upscale...is cute on the inside....just haven't had a chance to eat there yet.

Actually there are about 5 places to eat. I believe web ray is referring to mama della's and I second that. You won't go wrong with any of them they are all great! Three of them are "nice" sit down resturants varying mainly in cost and atmosphere. You will love Mama Della's and mama will take good care of you and your family and make sure you had plenty to eat. Ressie's are highly recommended to ensure you get a conv' time for you and your family. And a word of advise DON'T BE LATE. I saw first hand a beautiful family that was "held up" by the boats arrive 20 minutes late and be turned away for supper. I was so sad for them it was already 9:30 because we were there waiting for our table.

Mama Della's is wonderful! I haven't eaten at the Delfino but it is considered a very upscale, romantic restaurant. Spending $150 per couple wouldn't be difficult.

There is also the Trattatoria. They have a buffet for dinner but we ordered a la carte. We were not impressed with the food but others have enjoyed it. It is more open, not cozy like Mama Della's.

Nope, I was referring to Delfino...it is very upscale and on the second floor. Mama Della's...is on the first floor more cozy...pricey...looks great. We opted for Delfino, it is great for families or just a couple. Strolling singer/musician. great service.

I have wanted to try Delfino Riviera every trip and their hours never worked out for us. This trip we will be dining here for sure! It's tied for #1 in the city on Zagats list. Its actually on the third floor. A couple can easily spend $150 for a meal here. Mama Della's is wonderful and we have eaten here with and w/o the kids. Not expensive at all. Great food and excellent service. You can order family style or single servings. The food is plentiful! I love their mussels in white wine and garlic and the lasagna is delicious. Mama makes it memorable.:)

Here is a link and a review for Delfinos. http://themeparks.about.com/library/weekly/aa122102a.htm

Enjoy your trip! :)

Yum! Thanks for the link, Jessica. DH and I will definitely be dining here in August sans kids, that is. We will, however, take them to Mama Della's though. Can't wait!:Pinkbounc

What is the buffet at the Trattoria like? Does anyone know the price and what is on it? I assume this is a good one with little kids.
