Portobello - DTD

I LOVE Portobello!

The service was top notch and the food was extremely delicious. We ended up eating there twice in our 6 day stay last week and were so impressed, we changed our whole wedding around to have our reception dinner there.
Meatballs were huge and full of flavor. the four cheese pizza was out of this world! Lake Meadows chicken was the best chicken ive had anywhere in a very long time. Make sure you save room for dessert. the pichaccio and Nutella gelato was soooooo good and the "beerimasu" was the best dessert ive ever had!!!

Can't say enough amazing things about this place. a true hidden gem!!

NOTE: Portobello is owned by the Levy Group, along with
Fulton's and Wolfgang Puck's at Disney. The Italian is
surprisingly well above average for a WDW eatery. Good
variety of pasta, and a good choice of seafood and beef.
I would skip the Chicken and the Osso Buco. Like most of
the Levy eateries, they are a little over priced for the
quantity and quality. BUT, the menu items are changing
due to DDP. I recommend getting there before the DDP
does more damage like other used-to-great eateries.

I was not impressed when I went there in March (you can see my review in my signature)

That said, I live in a town with many many well done italian options. (I think I could eat at a different italian place one a week for a couple years!)

The food seemed bland & our service was off.

We love it here but are sad about the menu changes caused by the ddp. Anyway, the food and service are excellent. We love eating outside by the water too!

We tried it two years ago for the first time, and can safely say that we won't be back anytime soon. The food was bland (Chef Boy R Dee has more flavor), and the menu had no dishes (beyond pizza) that were baked. No parms, no lasagna, basically pasta city. Seating was beyond tight, with tables right on top of each other. And the service was severely lacking (no drink refills, long delays, etc...).
While I see that opinions vary, I am hopeful that we caught it on an off night. Having just tried Mama Melrose this year (for the Fantasmic package), I can safely say that it's still ahead of Mama Melrose, but paled in comparison to both Via Napoli and Il Mulino.
There are too many other options at DTD to make us rush back here in the near future.
