We are going on our first Universal trip next month and are having a hard time deciding on where to stay. I have the Hard Rock club level booked for 5 nites. We are a family of 4, myself, DH, DD13, DS8. I was thinking of getting a bigger room for extra space but the only one available is the kids suites at the Portifino. Is the extra $$ worth it to stay there or keep my reservation at the HR? Has anyone stayed at the Kids Suites? Can you tell me if they are close to club level?

Thank you,

My suggestion is to put in a request for a Deluxe room on the Club level at HRH. They may be able to accommmodate you, but of course it's only a request, not a guarantee.

I am sorry I don't know where the PBH Kid Suites are located. Sorry if I'm insulting your intelligence, but many do not know that suites at the Loews hotels do not automatically come with club service, like at Disney. You would have to add club to your reservation at an additional cost.

The normal deluxe rooms at Portofino usually come with a small pullout couch as well that would fit your youngest child.

I've never stayed in a Portofino kids suite, or any suite for that matter :rolleyes1 but if you already have the HRH booked for next month, and plan on keeping it, I suggest calling the HRH frontdesk and asking about the possibility of putting a request in for the deluxe club queen. They may put a notation on your reservation and your chances would be better of getting one, there aren't many. Then ask again at check in. We had the deluxe and it would be plenty big for your party. We would be staying at HRH this year, but our party has 5 people in it and we've been upgraded to a suite at PBH. With 5 of us, I couldn't chance not having the deluxe at HRH. :)

we have stayed in two kid's suites at PB and they were definately worth it to us. They are beautiful! The kid's room is a Dr. Seuss theme and is incredible! Both of the ones we were in had a king bedroom and the kid's room with two twins. There was one large bathroom. The one we had in the East wing was a long walk to the club lounge. It was on ground floor overlooking the water. It had two very private patios. The one in the West wing was not too far from club lounge. It was on the top floor - close to the elevator. The king bedroom had a nice large balcony overlooking the harbor. I will try and find the room numbers if you are interested.
