Portifino and HRH sold out for March 9 - 12 (but there is a bright spot!)

OK, who bought out the HRH and Portifino?

I called Universal about 1/2 hour ago and for the dates of the Universal meet, the HRH and Portifino are sold out! I was quite amazed! I tried March 10 - 12 and they were both sold out too!

I went to Travelocity.com and found the HRH for March 10 - 12 for $155. Portifino was around $209 (too rich for me). I guess that's OK since early entry is Sunday and Monday. I like having both FOTL and early entry.

I guess it is back to the cheapest possible hotel for March 9!

I was trying to figure out how to add on a day to our stay so I called Loew's yesterday to either add on Monday (the 12th of March) or Thursday (March 8th). They were totally booked for Monday, but they still had an entertainment rate available for Thursday, March 8th!! If you get that night, you would get FOTL on Thursday and Friday all day!!

HRH and Portofino have been totally booked the whole week after our meet. I was looking at the following weekend (the 16th?) and they were totally booked a month ago.

I couldn't add a day to our stay because US Air is now charging $100 dollars per person to change a reservation!! FORGET ABOUT IT!! So, we will go as originally planned, arriving Friday evening and departing Sunday night and staying Friday and Saturday night at the HRH.

I wish I could do March 8. Unfortunately, I can't get that day off.

Hotels are kind of expensive that weekend. Who let the local hotels know of our meet?

That week is Spring Break in most of Canada for elementary and high schools.

The week of March 12 is also Spring Break for a lot of Texas schools, so folks would be coming in that weekend.

I broke down and booked the Portifino for $209. I was at HRH this weekend and got way spoiled by FOTL. Besides, I need to stay there at least once to see what the excitement is about.
