We eat there every August and we will be dining there again this August. We love the Vino Con Fruita (Sangria) they always give samples but we need pitchers of it and my sister asks for seconds and thirds of the roasted garlic and crusty bread! The food is delicious and my mouth is watering just thinking about it! We have never had a bad meal or bad service and it has become a tradition for extended members of my family to meet there for a meal every year. I hope the excellence continues so we can continue our Portabello tradition!
I agree, Portobello's is on our 'must do' list. We have enjoyed dining here for many, many years. We also enjoy the Sangria and the Italian bread w/roasted garlic. Yum! Wish I was there right now!
I haven't eaten there for a couple of years either but it used to be must do restaurant - I gave it up to try others.
I used to love the flatbreads in here. A great ceasar salad. The rest of the food was excellent. I like the fact that it has a nice balance between your typical "American" Italian food and the more provincial Italian style Italian food.
Ate there in 2000 & 2001, planning on doing it again this year. We usually go early on our first night and sit outside. The food is great and it's a very relaxing view. Perfect for ending a day of airports, rental cars, unpacking, etc.....
Thanks for the great reviews, it's nice to see such positive reviews for a restaurant that does not get much notice on the boards. We are going to plan on eating here on our first night.
Thanks Uncleromulus for the link to John Combs website, very interesting. We will look him up when we go to eat at PYC on our upcoming visit.
