We will be renting a mini-van one way after our DCL cruise. We will be flying home from MCO. Which rental place is your favorite and have a shuttle from the port? I'm more concerned with convenience and good service than rock bottom pricing. I'd like to hear any recent experiences you've had lately. Do you send one person to pick up the car and return to the port to pick you up, or does everyone take the shuttle?

We used Avis last summer and it went pretty smoothly. We seemed to have a longer wait at the port than the Hertz people did but then 2 vans pulled up for Avis at the same time.

We got on the first van and left immediately while the other van was still loading. When we got to the Avis site, there were three people behind the counter. We got taken care of very quickly and an attendant brought our car from the parking lot to the front of the building. He blasted the air conditioner (a blessing on that hot August morning) and loaded all our baggage into the trunk for us.

Returning the car was easy because Avis (unlike Hertz) is right at the airport. Just pull the car in, grab your luggage and head to your gate. Very simple.

You might want to ask your question on the cruiseline board as well. Shirley (snelsonbrown) owns "The Perfect Gift" shop next to the Avis location. She frequents the cruise board and she can give you any advise you need about how to get where you want to go from that location.
