If I'm understanding correctly, you select a port arrival time when you do check in. If you're taking the Disney transport from MCO, how do you know when that is? Do you get more info at some point?

I have all these basic questions and I swear I've been reading everything I can get my hands on, as much as I can, but I keep coming up with more. It doesn't feel very well explained... maybe more info comes closer to sail date?

In Port Canaveral, it seems that those taking DCL transfers from resorts do not need a PAT and are allowed wed into the terminal when the bus arrives and receive a low boarding group. Those taking DCL transfers from the airport need to select a PAT and while allowed into the terminal on arrival the boarding group is relative to the PAT.

Basically - if the online check-in system makes you select a PAT you should do so. If not, don’t worry about it.

We are going from the Hyatt MCO, so I'm assuming that means I need to select a PAT. But I don't know when the bus departs the Hyatt so what should I choose? Or will they tell me at some point?

If you let DCL know that you're staying at the Hyatt MCO and using DCL transportation you won't need to select a PAT. That's been the case for my last 2 cruises and for my August Wish cruise. We were assigned board group 5.

We used DCL transport from MCO last March. I had to pick a PAT. I called DCL and was told their computer system makes you pick a PAT, but you can go whenever you want. We had a PAT of 11am. We went to the pick up area at 9am and they checked us in and we were put on the next bus. They never asked us about the PAT that I had chosen.

When I had Disney transportation from the resorts to Port Canaveral last year the check-in site listed that a Port arrival time was not necessary then assigned us to boarding group 2. The bus started picking us up around 10am but didn't get to the Port until about 1pm after circling back to pick up missing guests.
