We're doing the 7 day in January and the wife is becoming increasingly nervous about travelling during these unpredictable times. Can anyone tell me what security Disney has implemented on the ship and at the ports (Port Canaveral and along the route). I understand that there are probably tons of measures that are not publicly known for obvious reasons.
Thanks.

While I've heard there are several invisible security measures (such as maybe divers checking under the ship while at port) there are several visible security measures.

When you arrive at the port, your name must be on the guest list to even approach the terminal.

When you enter the terminal, you'll pass through a metal detector like if you were at the airport (and they will conviscate pocket knives and leather-men tools).

When boarding the ship, there is usually a trained dog sniffing (for explosive I guess).

At forein ports, taxis and boats are no longer allowed at the docks (pre 9-11, taxis used to pick you up right at the gangway). Only ship's crew and guest are allowed on the docks.
