Port Orleans

Hi,
We just found out about a AAA discount for our stay in September and decided to upgrade to port orleans, from PC. Anyways, we have booked riverside so far, but we have never stayed at either...can you guys tell me pros/cons of each?? Which you prefer/why??

They are both beautiful resorts with great theming.

POR is large and it can be a hike to the pool and food court from certain locations (you'll see what I mean if you look at a map of the resort). It shares buses with POFQ and are the last to be picked up and the last to be dropped off. They have a sit down restaurant as well as the food court.

POFQ is 1/2 the size and it is five minutes or less to get anywhere at the resort. They do not have a sit down restaurant.

They are considered "sister" resorts so you can use amenities at either resort. The pools are themed and both are nice. You can catch a boat to DD from either. It is only a 10 minute walk along the river to get from one resort to the other. They are both great resorts and you will enjoy either one.

We just got back from POFQ. We explored POR. They are both beautiful resorts. I personally liked POFQ a little more because it was more intimate and easier to get to the food court during crazy hours when we wanted to refill our mugs. Also, at least during our stay, buses picked up and dropped off first at POFQ. Most of the time we didn't even stop at POR due to full capacity. But the boats pick up first at POR, so its a trade-off.

But if you stay at either, make sure to go to Boatwrights in POR. They had the best pot roast I have tasted in years. DD loved the ravioli too. Huge portions. Yum, yum.
