Port orleans

Which Port Orleans? To me it does make a difference, even when you are picking between it and BC

PO:FQ is a favorite of my fam, and I didn't care for BC. But, if you do a lot of swimming and hang out at EPCOT WS and DHS a lot, and have plenty of money, then BC may be for you.

Is the cafeteria close ?
You'll only have a small counter service at the BC. There is the Boardwalk Bakery across the water (you can walk over) or another counter service at both the Swan and Dolphin. Yacht Club also has a small counter service. But none of these are like the food courts of the value or moderate resorts.

If your girls are into princesses, you can book a Royal Room at PORiverside.

As someone who stayed at POFQ in August and literally just left BC today: BC and it’s not even a contest. But resort recs are highly subjective and depend on your needs, preferences, and budget.

Well BC is a deluxe resort and PO is a moderate. So the food at BC is better, the pool at BC is better. The location at BC is better, you can walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
I've stayed at PO Riverside and the property was gorgeous, the pool was also very fun but I did not like the food. They do have a large cafeteria style quick service. You will have to walk outside to get to it

BC is my favourite resort for many reasons - location is amazing, its right on the Boardwalk, easy walk to EPCOT (and a slightly longer one to DHS or you can get the boat), and the pool at BC is amazing.
However, we are staying at POFQ in January as it was less than half the price of BC, and its a really lovely hotel. If money was no object though I would choose BC everytime - even over the Grand Floridian!

If cost isn't a factor then Beach Club and it really isn't close. We've stayed at Port Orleans and Yacht Club (Beach Club's sister resort) several times each. Port Orleans is a great resort and has a lot going for it, but Beach/Yacht Club has better rooms, pool, location (walk to Epcot and walk/boat to Hollywood Studios) and atmosphere. The pool at Beach Club is a HUGE difference. And while I like Port Orleans, being able to walk around the Boardwalk area is pretty awesome.

It depends on what you plan on doing while there and what your touring style is. Obviously, there are huge differences between the two, starting with price and going from there. It boils down to POR is a moderate motel style resort with outside hallways. BC is a deluxe hotel style resort with inside hallways. Both have covered bus stops. POR has a food court, BC has a sit down restaurant and shares amenities with YC. You will ride the bus to all parks from POR, you can walk to Epcot and HS from BC. So, it really depends on your budget and your goals while at WDW. I've stayed at both and would go BC over POR if money was not an issue but I really did enjoy my stay at POR, I was in the plantation side.
