Hi! I am booking a vacation for 4 adults from July 7-15 and am having trouble picking a resort!

Port Orleans is around $230 a night (standard room) and Old Key West is $250 (Deluxe Studio). I have stayed at French Quarter before and really loved it. I stayed at Riverside when I was really little, but don't remember anything! I know that the Port Orleans resorts are moderate resorts and that Old Key West is a deluxe, but I am still having trouble picking!

If anyone has stayed at both or even just one, I'd love to hear what you think! Thanks so much for the help!!!!!

We stayed at Old Key West and the deluxe studio is really nice. It would be a much bigger room than the POR room and it would have a balcony and a microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The thing I didn't like about it was that it didn't have a good counter service restaurant and the bus is very annoying.

I'm going to go against the grain and say POR. I've stayed at both, in a deluxe studio at OKW and a room in one of the mansions at POR. Both are bus resorts and pretty close to each other. The studio has two double beds (they might be queen I was staying solo) and as previous poster stated a small area with a sink and microwave and a balcony. OKW is a bit dated, it's the first DVC resort athend is showing it's age. I was in a good location, across the road behind the main pool so it was a pretty short walk to the lobby and the bus stop was right next to my unit. I didn't feel like OKW was a deluxe and I've stayed at all the deluxes except Wilderness Lodge. I actually did a split stay POR two nights OKW 2 nights so experienced them both in the same trip.

Although we do enjoy POR, this isn't even close. For only 20 more a night it would definitely be OKW.

OKW has two queen beds. One thing it has that POR doesn't have is the balcony. OKW doesn't have many elevators (most buildings don't have them). With the kitchenette at OKW, you don't really need a food court. You have access to a washer and dryer for free (at all the pools). At POR you'll pay for that washer and dryer. Goods to Go is a nice little counter service, but you'll be sitting at a picnic table eating your food. Both resorts have boats to DTD. All the OKW villas were renovated about three years ago. The bathroom in the OKW studio is a big plus over the POR bathroom. Much larger and easy to move it (not a tiny closet with a toilet and tub). Buses at OKW are easy. After many, many stays there, we've never had a problem with the buses. We've seldom had to stand on a bus at OKW (not saying you never will stand, but most of the time you'll get a seat), but you will at POR.
