Hi were coming to Disneyworld for 13 nights in December staying at the Polynesian but one night they were full for dvc and I need help to choose our one night stay at the Boardwalk or Port Orleans royal room with my 8 year old daughter. I would love some opinions for which resort to choose. This stay will be a relaxed resort day. Thank you!

I think that with an 8 year old daughter, she would probably LOVE the Riverside resort, especially the Royal rooms! There is a lot to do at this resort. While I love the Boardwalk, and I'm sure she would love the resort as well, I think that Riverside would appeal to her.

There are several pools at Riverside, the royal rooms are beautiful, there is a boat that you can take over to Disney Springs if you want, and there are other activities, too (fishing, etc). My vote is for Riverside.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either one. The RR rooms are really cute, but smaller than the BWI rooms and you won't have interior hallways (if that makes a difference). The resort is beautiful, nice pools and you can take a boat to DS for shopping, bowling, a meal, etc. Definitely could be a lot of fun!

BWI is also fantastic. The rooms will be bigger, the pool is fun (yes, my DS10 loves the clown slide!), there are great restaurants within walking distance, jugglers and magicians at night and the overall atmosphere is a lot of fun. If you stay here, you may want to think about booking the Bon Voyage breakfast on your checkout day (or heading over to Cape May to see Minnie and friends).

It's a total toss up for me. If you want to save a little money, go POR.

Never stayed at BWI, but one time at the Swan, I had a room on the Boardwalk side of the hotel. I could hear (albeit somewhat muted) music until late at night. I would be concerned about the noise levels staying at BWI. Something to consider if you need peace and quiet to sleep comfortably.

Just stayed at the royal room and it is really cute. Either would be a great choice but it is so cute.

For one night only, I would lean towards POR just to save a little bit of money. But for a resort day, I'd lean towards BWI due to the pool and more dining options. Plus Epcot and DHS are right there if you change your mind and want to visit a park at some point during the day or night.

Keep in mind that you may be "homeless" for a few hours if your room at the new resort isn't ready until check-in time. Just something to consider when using your resort changing day as a relax/no parks day.

I would love to stay at BW but for one night I would make it all about your 8 year old daughter. The Royal Rooms are very cool, very Disney and even I had fun with the fireworks in the bed. The resort is beautiful Southern Charm and I would take the boat to DS for dinner.

Thank you. I love all the good advice but the last comment made my decision. POR Royal Room. Its all about the Magic in the room and the beauty I hear is wonderful at the resort. I booked a river view. Thank you!

JEALOUS! Make sure you hit that fireworks button one time for me! pixiedust:
