I have heard there are some rooms available for a family of 5 at the POR resort....which section? And how comfortably does a family of 5 including 2 teens fit in the room as compared with the Contemporary wing room size? What size are the beds? Also how is the transportation to the parks? :earsgirl:

The rooms for 5 at POR are in the Alligator Bayou section. There is a trundle bed that slides under one of the other full size beds to accomodate the fifth person.

The rooms are 314 sq. ft., which is typcial of all the moderate resorts. We have never stayed with five people, but have stayed with 4, including two teenagers, and the size was adequate. It probably would be tight with five, but not uncomfortable unless you spend a great deal of time in the room, which most people don't.

Transportation is pretty good. The busses can get crowded, but we love the boat service to DD.

Some of the rooms in Aligator Bayou have trundle beds so that 5 people can fit, BUT...............the rooms are small. I think you would be very cramped with 5 people (especially if the kids are older). We had 3 adults once at CBR and I thought that was even too crowded.

Our family of 5 stayed at POR last year. Me, DH, dd-15, dd-7 and dd-3. Our 3 year old used the trundle bed. We were comfortable, but we're used to cramped quarters. I doubt a teenage-sized person would be comfortable in the trundle bed.

We just got back from POR we had 5, 2 adults, 1-14yo girl, 1-13yo boy, and an 8 yo boy. We were only in the room to sleep. It was a bit crowded but we didn't mind. The kids took turns in the trundle, the 2 older ones are about 5 ft 2 each and no one complained about sleeping. I slept with my daughter, my DH slept with the boys in turn. When she slept on the trundle the boys slept together. We were fine.

Alligator Bayou is the place to stay. Building 14 was the closest one we could get and Room 1423 fit us fine: two aduts, and children 11, 9 and 7. The 11-year-old claimed the trundle bed and had no complaints. The key for us was not spending much time in the room.

My family would be fine with 5 at POR. The trundle beds are for smaller kids though and my teens are to big for the bed. If you have a petite dd she may be fine on it.

I'm 5'5" and a half and slept on the trundle bed. It was really comfy. My daughter is a space invader so my mom (age 63 and 5'7") and I traded off on the trundle. I am a side sleeper though I think if I were the type to stretch out I might have been too tall for the bed. We were one adult, 2 senior citizens, a 10 yr old boy and a 7 yr old girl when we went. I don't know if it was crowded, we just slept there pretty much.

We were there in March with 5 to a room and three teenagers! No problem! We were organized and would stay again in a heartbeat!
