hey, i am going to POR in 11 days and i am staying in AB in building 14 """so excited""" anyway is there anything i should remember about the resort before i get there and while i am there? ::MickeyMo

I stayed in the POR last September and I really liked it. I stayed in Oak Manor so I can not comment on the buildings in the AB. The resort is pretty spread out, but most of the buildings are not too far from the main building. The food court has a nice selection and the food was pretty good. There is also a sit down restaurant that was good as well. There are bikes and boats to rent. The bar has a piano player that gets a lot of raves, I did not get a chance to see his show.
Are you sure you are going to be in building 14, generally rooms are not assigned until a few days before your stay and you do not know where you will be until you get there. Requests are meet if they can accomdate them.

We love Riverside. We stay on the Mansion side. We love the walking paths, the bridges and the pools. Boatwrights is the restaurant and we liked our meals there. The food court was good. We had less than a five minute walk to the main building, food court, bus stop and pools. You can rent bikes and little boats. There is also a boat that takes you to Downtown Disney. We loved the nice and relaxing ride each night to DTD. They also have carriage rides. French Quarter and Riverside share the buses, this was the only thing that we didn't care for. Sometimes the waits at the bus stop are a little long. You can find ways to sometimes to avoid this situation. Overall this is our favorite resort. Hope you love it too.

how do you know what building you will be in?

I stayed there in January and enjoyed POR for the most part. Stayed in building 25...my mom is handicapped so the long walks were hard for her...even though we had requested a building closer to a parking lot and the main building, we were stuck in the middle.

The rooms are your standard hotel room, two double beds, wonderful themeing, tiny bathroom (that was my only complaint, it is TINY in there).

The surroundings are beautiful! very peaceful...enjoy your stay.

we went last november and I requested 14 and got 15....
very curious....

great location...you will never want to stay any place else for the location of everything....

have fun:wave:

i am not sure that i will be in buidling 14 but i am going to request it and pray that i get it ::MickeyMo

We were in Building 17 last November as 14 and 15 were full (the most requested buildings). This was a nice consolation prize, though, since it was close to both the quiet pool and the laundry. It wasn't the most convenient to the parking lot, although we could have done much worse. This is a consideration if you plan to drive.

I love the AB! The masion area seemed kind of sterile to me, but we couldn't have stayed there anyway. We're a family of 5.

Enjoy!

I hope you get your request. We requested the mansions for our trip last April and they put us in ab I enyoyed ab but was very disappointed that I didn't get to stay in the mansions. Now I won't be able to stay there until our kids are grown because we have 3 kids and our youngest could go in the crib at the time but she just turned 3 and the mansions only allow 4 plus baby under 3.

we loved por! we are doing a split stay there and the contemporary next April.

enjoy your trip!
