Port Orleans Riverside

Good evening everyon,

We are thinking of going to Port Orleans Riverside on our next trip. One of the reasons why is because they have a pull out murphy bed. We have 2 teenage daughters and they do not sleep well together and are always arguing over their space and lack of.

Anybody have had the experience of sleeping on their murphy beds ? Is it comfortable for teenagers or even adults ?

I am 5"3' and found the murphy bed to be a bit too short for me. However, it's doable and really not a hindrance. I slept fine, I was just a bit uncomfortable. I also tend to move around in my sleep so I kept hitting the wall on accident.

It seemed a little small for my 12 year old, but she could sleep on it if she had to. My 4 year old slept on it instead. I didn't lay on it, so I can't really comment on the comfort level.

I have been researching Port Orleans for a future trip--I have a son and daughter who don't sleep in the same bed and while I could sleep with my daughter and my husband with my son, I don't like to because my daughter is a bed hog At Port Orleans, Disney will only guarantee you the murphy bed if you have 5 in your party. I looked into it and all of the rooms in the AB section have the murphy bed. You can book a room in a preferred location. All of the preferred location rooms are in the AB section. This "guarantees" that you will have a murphy bed but it will cost more. I think that the preferred rooms are $30 more per night. As long as one of your daughters is around 5 feet or shorter, this should work. Hope this helps!

Are you sure they won't fight about who has to sleep on the Murphy? That would kinda blow the whole point lol

That little thing is about good for an eight year old. Throw the teenie on the floor with a sheet and call it good.

In January I slept on it for 5 nights and had no problems. Yes it's a little small but I made it work as I was with four adults. I am a 17 year old boy.
