Hello, I am going on vacation to Disney starting Sunday and am staying at port Orleans riverside in the royal rooms.... Had anyone stayed there before? If so is it nice?

The Royal Rooms are very nice. What did you want to know? You might check the POR thread.....

We stayed at POR one whole night a couple years ago. We decided to extend our trip by a day and wanted to stay there since we never had. We really liked it although we did not get to explore much. The thing I liked the most was the "woodsie" feeling you got walking amongst the different buildings. We also ate at Boatwrights and thought it was very good! If you like cornbread then this is your place. It was the tastiest cornbread any of us had ever encountered! I would like to go back so I could look around more. They also have the boat that takes you to DD I think. I am not sure if the boats that come up the river there go elsewhere but I am pretty sure they go to DD.

In my opinion Port Orleans Riverside is the most beautiful resort in Disney World due to its wide-ranging and well-kept grounds, including plenty of trees, pathways, a river that runs through it, and various large and small walking bridges over the river and little streams. You will find it relaxing and de-stressing. My favourite resort at Disney and I have been to many Disney resort hotels.

It is indeed in person better than the pictures.

I would definitely hop on over to the POR thread; many of us who have posted have stayed multiple times and can help you with any questions you may have about your stay.

Stayed in the RGR back in March and as you can see by our ticker, we will be back in 20 more days. So yes we really liked it:thumbsup2 I also like the fact that we are right across the bridge from the main area. We actually like this area better than the preferred area because we get to cross the river and our DD's love crossing over the bridges:)

We love POR. We have never stayed in royal rooms but love love love the grounds. It's our go to for first two nights of our stay.

We will be at POR Sunday too :goodvibes! I have never stayed in the Royal Rooms, mainly because my Fiancee prefers King Beds. The Royal Rooms only provide 2 queens. I can say that POR resort is beautiful and looks even better in person!

We had a 2 week stay at POR in July/August this year. The resort is very pretty, the facilities including the food court are good, but we probably wouldn't go back there. I have nothing overwhelming negative to say about it and I can't really put my finger on why it wasn't our thing, but we were not too keen on it at all.

I have to say that we might be slightly tainted because our previous stay was at a Deluxe and obviously it was significantly better than our stay at POR. Perhaps it was just that we were spoiled by our stays in Deluxe accommodation but in the moderate category I definitely preferred Caribbean Beach. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and as I said I didn't hate it or have anything super bad to say about it, but it definitely wasn't for us.

Stayed in a RR in August. The rooms are truly unique and theming is beautiful. I did notice though some small things that weren't quite finished due to the rush of getting the rooms done last spring. If you can overlook small details then the room is quite pretty.

I stayed in the royal guest room and wow it was so nice. The refgerator is great. Keeps everything COLD! The bed is sooo nice it's like sleeping on a cloud. The AC is also verry nice. You will not want to leave.

I was just there 2 weeks ago and it was beautiful! RGR was very nice, my DD loved it. We were near the bridge, so convenient to everything.

I liked it MUCH better than CBR.

I hope your stay is "magical." :goodvibes

We have stayed there a few times. We are staying there again next month. It is my favorite Moderate. And we even prefer it to some of the deluxes!
