Could someone advise me which building are the "best" for this resort. I'm hoping to request when I book my reservation soon. Mostly I'd like to be close to a bus stop and not ridiculously far from the main building.

Thanks so much for the website. It should be a great help! I have actually stayed there once before, but it was 6 years ago and before they combined the two resorts.

Here is a link to a map of the resort

http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/PortOrleansMap.pdf

We have stayed in alligator B Bld 14 and 15 and Mansion Oak Manor. The main bus stop is real close to 14 and 15 as is the food court pool etc. For Oak Manor we would cross the river and go to the main bus stop in the morning. 1st pick up and then ride to the East Depot at night.

Building 27 is a fabulous location... less than a 5 minute walk to the food court and main building... also the South(main) depot... but I will tell you that it is also the most crowded depot... we elected to use the West Depot, which was about a 5 minute walk... we had stayed in a building on the west side before... it is a quiet, much less crowded bus depot, with very little waiting time! Have a wonderful trip and enjoy the serene surroundings of POR... even when it is "full", you never know it... by the way, the buidlings I am talking about are in Alligator bayou... we have never stayed in the Mansion section... LOVE THE BAYOU!!!!

We requested Alligator Bayou... I think Bldg. 14/15? Can't remember, but we ended up with something farther (18 or 24??)... I think there is a map at allears.net or google for one.

Anyway, point is, where we stayed ended up being fine! Just be aware that you may want to board the bus at the front stop (esp. in peak times) since if the bus is full it will not go around to all the other stops.

Godd luck!

We were in the Magnolia Bend section and our building was called Magnolia (I think there was something else along with that name, but Magnolia something). The location was great, right between two pools, the East Bus Depot was right behind us and it wasn't too far from the main building/lobby. This resort is fabulous...you will have fun no matter where you are!

We r staying at POR in 27 days:banana: , the last time we stayed at Magnolia Bend:thumbsup2 and it was not a long walk at all, also Oak Manor is right next door 2 MB. You can take the boat right 2 Downtown Disney:woohoo: and you'll have a great:yay: time staying there.

I was planning to stay here since it is in the "middle" range of price and star's of all of the Disney hotels. Since some of you guys have stayed here before a few questions.

1. Is it really nice not compare to the upper hotels but just wondering is it worth the price?
2. How far is it really from the parks? Not looking to drive far to go into all the parks!
3. Is it close by to any of the restaurants and shops?
4. How are the amenities? Pool, gym?

1. Yes, really nice and I prefer to many of the deluxes personally
2. Not too far, you will be fine, not an issue
3. A boatride away from DTD, and a beautiful ride at that! A must do! Also, there is agiftshop and restaurant at the resort, as well as the food court
4. Don't know about a gym, sorry, no time for that. But, plenty of walkways that are beautiful for walking , jogging. The pool is fine, my little kids enjoyed it. Not quite as themed as some resorts, but it suits our needs just fine. ALso, you can use the Dragon Pool at POFQ;)

Magnolia Terrace is where we stayed and it was perfect. There was a quiet pool and laundry right to the side of us. The main pool was almost right in front. That lead right to the main building and resturant. And there was a depot right behind us for bus pick up. We couldn't have asked for a better location!:cool1:

We stayed in Building 80 of the Mansion District last September. Great location for the bus stop - it was a 5 minute walk from the room. To get to the main building, we had to walk across the bridges and island. While this was nice and relaxing for us (2 adults only), it could be a bit much with strollers and children. The room was very quiet and worked well for us.
