Is there a counter to spread out toiletries? I didn't think about the 2 pedastal sinks until after I booked it.

Yes, there is a ledge over the two sinks.

Yes, they are pedestal (sp?) sinks and the little ledge is above them. It also had a decent sized space next to the sinks against the wall. It was like a closet, but without doors - as a matter of fact, now that I think about it, there WAS NO CLOSET to hang clothes/etc - this is where we hung clothes/put bags/etc. And the thing is, is that the 'mess' was not out of sight - it's pretty much right there for you to look at all the time.

Too - when you walk into those rooms, the sinks are directly in front of you on the opposite end of the room - there is no door from 'bed'room to sink area.

The ledge looks pretty small. I think there is a curtain that could be pulled between the sink area and the room part if you want to hide things behind it. I believe all moderates have the curtains. (CBR did anyway.)
We had a thread quite awhile ago talking about "sink snobs" and how we choose a resort is partially based on how much room is around the sinks.

CSR only has one sink but a similar counter as CBR. CSR also has a curtain.

Thanks for all of the pics!! I think the ledge will work just fine--it's just me and my DH. I also think by looking at just those pics that POR is more of our style.

If you do think you might need a little more space for toiletries one tip I remember reading on the disboards is to bring along one of those shoe holders that hangs up. The type that is made out of plastic with pockets in it to hold pairs of shoes. You can hang this on the bar right by the sinks and use it to organize all kinds of small items.

That's a great suggestion. LL Bean also makes toiletry bags in different sizes with a hook to hang it up. Very handy!

We got one at Wal-Mart that has mesh pockets so things can dry out a bit. Oddly enough it shows a hairbrush and hair dryer in the pockets. It's the same color as our luggage, Mickey pants red!

We're going to have 5 at POR in the spring so every little space saving tip will be utilized.

The shoe holder hanging thingy is such a good idea!!! It packs totally flat!How clever!

The shelf above the sinks at POR is very long, and deep enough to work great! I loved the fact that I could leave my toothbrush, moisturizer and all my makeup there, and it wasn't in the way. The two sinks are handy, too. DH and I had plenty of space, and didn't have to share a sink. (He left his whole shaving kit on the shelf above 'his' sink.)

I preferred the nice shelf set up much more than trying to leave a few things out around a single sink that had an ice bucket, coffee pot, coffee filters, cups, glasses, etc in the way.
