Port Orleans Riverside?

Has anyone stayed at the POR lately? And if so can you tell me which buildings are the best to stay in. We will be flying in but have rented a car for driving from airport so will have that for a parking lot. Also have two other families with toddlers with us. Also we will be going end of Nov. and first week of Dec. What should we expect for weather and if we should pack swimsuits or just forget about that.

I was just there, and I LOVED POR! We stayed in Magnolia Terrace which is located in the Mansion area. It is non-smoking as well. It was a short walk to the main building that has the food court and main bus terminal, and we had another bus terminal behind our building. The themed pool was about a 2 minute walk, and a quiet pool was just to the side of us.

The theming is wonderful and the resort is very family friendly. It has become my new favorite.

Great! Thanks for your reply. Now if only we can predict the weather For Nov. 28-Dec.4. We will be set. Although we have been to WDW during Christmastime and people were huddled under parkas and we were in short sleeves so I guess it depends where you live how the weather will affect you. I am hoping for mid 70's.

We have stayed at the POR twice, once in the mansion, once in the bayou. Love the Bayou, close to our car, close to the bus. We will be returning in November and are looking forward to the Bayou section again.

I just dug out my map from last year. I think the first thing would be to decide which area you prefer- Alligator Bayou or the Mansions. (You can check out pictures on Deb Wills website- http://allearsnet.com) Then, I would look at the POR map- http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/port-riverside.htm The mansions are really huge, so where your room is located in them is probably more important than in the Bayou buildings. We stayed in Parterre Place, on the quiet pool side, and loved the location. Hope this helps! It is a beautiful, relaxing resort.
