We are going to Disney in 28 days!!! So excited. We have been flip flopping on the best building to put a request for. We were set on Alligator Bayou, building 14-18 and 27 then it dawned on us although location is great and theming good I do not think my daughter will love it as much at the regular mansion rooms or princess room of course. I am very much aware that this is just a request we are making with no guarantees. The last request I made was for the Magnolia building river view. Hoping to be close to the bridge. Never been to this resort. Can I PLEASE get some advice on what people think is the most ideal area (building) and type of room (1st floor, corner, etc) to ask for? Thank you!::MickeyMo::MickeyMo::MickeyMo

Congrats on your upcoming trip! The buildings you stated in alligator bayou are preferred buildings. If you booked a preferred room you will definitely be in that section of alligator bayou. Parterre place and oak manor have the royal rooms. Magnolia place and Acadian house are standard and so is the further away alligator rooms. We usually have stayed preferred so we were in the front of the alligator section. We did a royal room once and it was right across the bridge. All of the rooms there are great!! The preferred are the closest but the royal rooms are also not far. I am not sure about the standard rooms.

If you want a royal room, that is a paid category, not a request. The same is true for the preferred rooms.

If you have a standard room booked and want to request a manor then you will be fairly close. We like Oak Manor (2nd choice) and Magnolia Terrace (1rst choice) as they are close to bridges to go quickly to the main building.

Ground floor and corner rooms are nice too, but not a big deal IMO.

I stayed at Magnolia with my g'daughter for her 16th birthday and I was disappointed when I checked in. But, I loved it. We had a garden view, the quiet pool was was next to us, and we were not far from the main pool or the food court. I really wanted AB but was very happy where they put us.

We stayed in Acadian House and thought it was an excellent location. Right by the bridge to Old man island....close to the bus stop at the back. We were on the second floor the second room to the left of the staircase. Beautiful room.

Here is a map to the buildings....

We stayed in Acadian House, but on the 1st floor & loved it. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Was it a bit of a walk after a long day at the parks? Or was that a non-issue would you say? Also did you use the closer bus and how did that work out?

Don't recall it being a long walk from the bus stop, after a day at the parks with our 2 DDs. We stayed there a couple of times before & after taking a Disney cruise. :)
