Hi all!
I'm trying to decide which building to request tomorrow morning. The Alligator Bayou rooms don't really appeal to me too much. Any suggestions? I was looking at Magnolia Terrace. That one likes nice.

We were there in Feb and we were in the Acadian House Mansion and it was PERFECT!! We had a corner room on 2nd floor - over looking the pool. It was so quick and convenient to the food court, etc. The view was beautiful. I so could be back there right now..:teeth:

We've stayed there several times. The first few trips we always stayed in the AB section, and the last few have been in the Mansions. The decor is slightly different to me (and a lot different to my HGTV-loving wife). Since the AB has the trundle bed and is the only option in the mods for a family of five - it always seems a little more crowded to me, but nothing too noticeable. The buildings are smaller and more spread out, however, so that gives them more of a "woodsy" feel. In the mansions, we've stayed at Magnolia Terrace and Partierre Place. Magnolia is probably the most popular requested building due to is location, but Partierre is also a good spot - just not as close to Ole Man island but close to the main building. It also seems more secluded than Magnolia if that's a priority.

Don't dismiss AB rooms. We got back a few weeks ago and it was nice and secluded. We didn't see one person the whole time. It was a nice walk to the food court-not long at all and same to the pool.
What I noticed from the mansion rooms(at least during my stay) is that they were busier then AB. I saw countless familys and people walking in and aorund the rooms.

Hope this helps.

Our family of 5 is staying at POR next week for 8 days. Because there are five of us we have to stay at the Alligator Bayou section, which is perfectly fine with us. I just phoned POR yesterday, because I wanted a certain building location (from looking at the resort map). I've heard that you can send them a fax, letter, etc. But to me I'd rather speak to an actual person, whenever I make reservations. When I phoned, the CM at the front desk made a notation of our room location preference, and mentioned that whether we phoned, faxed, or mailed a letter each menthod doesn't necessarily guarantee your request (or has any advantage either). Either way I'm sure we are going to have a blast !

great! thnx for all of the input! im calling them right now.
