Just wondering if port orleans riverside is going to be redone in a year or so. What are the rooms like at this point, are they still nice and uptodate, clean, or do they look like they need to be refurbished.

Looking for answers for the manors and alligator bayou rooms?

Thanks,

Deb.

stayed in Alligator Bayou in May, building #15. It was spotless, just like back in 2001. I dont know anything about the mansions, though. I hope they don't close for refurbishment when I'm there next year, we are really looking forward to going back there again!

We were at POR August 9 - 16. We had two rooms in bldg. 16, they were very clean. No bugs, no chipped paint, no mold. It was beautiful.

We were in POR in August. Our room was clean, and no problems with looking shabby!

We have stayed at PO many, many times and never had any of the problems I have read about on these boards. The last time I was there was Easter of this year. We were in the mansions and have also stayed in Bayou both were fine. If you read these boards I don't think there is a resort (value-deluxe) that there are not complaints about. Twice I've been in a resort that after one night asked to be moved. It was no problem to change, unless you are going probably Christmas or Easter week when resorts are full if you're not happy Disney is happy to change you to another resort. I don't understand when I read posts about how run down or dirty or noisy the rooms are why don't they change resorts if you're not happy. The 2 resorts I asked to be moved from alot of people just love them, but I was not comfortable there. I've also stayed at another that I did not get moved from but would not stay there again even for $50 a night. Yet others absolutely love it. Try it if you don't like it change.l

We stayed in the Mansion over Labor Day weekend and our room was spotless. Even the bathroom was perfect, my own bathroom doesn't look as clean as the one at POR. It's a lovely resort!!

Was there last week in an Oak Manor mansion room and it was really really great. Second stay at POR and would never hesitate to go back.

We are going to POR in November and are travelling with grandparents. We have 3 room reservations. What building or mansion would you guys suggest for 2 senior citizens - close to the food court and bus stop? Thanks for your help in advance.

Our previous stay a year and a half ago was in the alligator bayou section--I can't remember which number but the walk was short and nice (more than 5 but less than 10 minutes) to the bus stop and food court. Last week at Oak Manor we were close to the food court and two different bus stops. By close I mean a 5 minute walk or less.

When we were at POR, Magnolia Terrace in Oct 2002, our room was a bit shabby - the veneer was scratched/scuffed pretty badly on our bed, and there was a bit of mold on the ceiling in the bathroom (that they came and cleaned up for us, since my dd12 is allergic to mold) but the other two rooms our extended family had there were fine. I'd say the mansions are due for an update soon (isn't it planned, after POFQ?) and then they'll probably do the bayou after. The one bayou room we saw that trip was fantastic - I'd love to stay there next time.

My BIL and SIL stayed at POR in August and mentioned that their room was in need of renovating. They stayed in the Magnolia Terrace building.
