Port Orleans Riverside Q&A Thread 2013, Part Two [Thread now FULL and closed]

Mini Trip report:
Our trip to POR was great. Everyone was very nice and courteous. Beautiful hotel and grounds. We loved the food court. It does get crowded at peak times but it's to be expected. We were in building 17, 1st floor corner room which is what we requested. I don't think I requested building 17 but it doesn't matter. We loved the location. It was next to a quiet pool and a laundry room. We got to see a pair of otters there. DH took pics and video but it's in his cell phone. We are definitely returning to POR.

Thank GOD!!!, that POR is still intact.

Which bridge is closed?

Yes, POR is intact. They are replacing the wooden decking on the bridge between Magnolia Terrace and Ol' Man Island, but the other bridges are all still open. Work is likely to take about 5 days I understand, and the bridge opens again after dark when they are not working.

Ok...our bags are packed. Have to drop the dog at the kennel and pick up some headphones for the plane. Meeting our travel mates at 1115am then off to the airport to catch our flight. We'll be at POR tonight! I can't believe it is finally here

forgot about headphones for the plane. Can you use just regular headphones of are they special?

That is a good question...anyone know if they will deliver to the room? My autism spectrum son LOVES balloons and I know he would like the double bubble Mickey balloons. I just can't picture us (with all 3 kids) trying to get the balloons (safely) back to the resort.
