Officially paid the trip off today! 52 days to go!

Can anyone explain to me the benefits of checking in online? The website tells me I can do it now, but I'm not sure what the reason to do this would be.

We leave for POR in less than 24 hours! Let's hope this snowstorm doesn't delay us. :-) Can't wait another day to relax at our favorite resort.

My experience has been that the on-line check in line at the resort is usually very short if there is a line at all. Last year we arrived at 11:00 and our room was ready for us. I do it because I feel it's one less thing to do(and it gives me something to check off ;))

Have a great vacation!!! :dance3:

Thanks! I read that some rooms had been recently renovated and just wanted to make sure that nothing had changed. Seems like the Murphy Beds would serve a better purpose for young kids in the Royal Guest rooms. :0/

I'm currently booked at AoA but would like to switch to a Mod if Free Dining is offered. Trying to decide between POR RG Rooms or a Pirate room at CBR. The Murphy Bed would have sealed the deal for sure! Not ruling out POR just yet though. :0)

completely agree that they should have put Murphy beds in the royal rooms. We would love to stay in one, but not enough to pay for 2 rooms.

We are just a family of 3 and I'd love to find something with a King and a Murphy. I guess my search continues.

The AB section has King beds though don't they? With a Murphy bed? Would they allow 2 adults and 2 kids in one of those rooms if one is 6 and the other 2?

We are booked at AOA and am now preparing...err, keeping my fingers crossed for free dining nd am also preparing my mod resort if it happens...:rotfl2:
It's either POR or POFQ.....still torn.
I am worried POR will be like CBR (which we did not enjoy) due to size.

I do believe they have king with Murphy. We want more of a "fun" room for our daughter though. I'm reading that most of the resorts allow for an extra person if they are under 3 and can sleep in a crib or pack and play.

Due to size of the room or resort? The rooms looks decent, is the resort too big? I'm realizing that's the downside of most of the resorts. Lots of walking from place to place. That's the last thing I want to do after I've walked all day.

We are booked in may for 7 nights in 2 rooms at the POR. We stayed at pop last year since they were remodeling the POR. We are looking forward to the queen beds and the fresh looking rooms.

I am really sorry if this question was already asked. We are looking for a room to fit our family of 5. We have stayed here before when there was the trundle beds and did not like that bed option. This time we will be going with a 4 year old, 9 year old, and an 11 year old. My 4 year old will probably not want to sleep on the murphy bed, so how big is the bed. Will the 11 or 9 year old be fine?

We also did not like CBR but loved POFQ. (And we're also from MA.) I'm hoping POR is more like POFQ and not like CBR.

In post #5 of this thread there's a picture of the layout of the Alligator Bayou rooms that shows that the dimensions of the Murphy bed are 63 x 30.

Was it just due to size that you didn't like CBR? Because POR is also quite large? Unlike FQ

Thanks, I saw that. I guess I was not super clear. I was wondering to get anyone's actual experience with it and what they thought. I am bed with dimensions, lol

I am just jumping in here but I believe an average 9 year old should. But Depending on the 11 year old maybe they might fit on it.

One fact that might sway you is that the Pirate rooms have double beds- not queens! That is what got me to book the royal rooms for our visit this summer...

BOOKED TODAY!!!! Yay!!! Thanks everyone for the opinions and insights!

And one pet peeve about the reservation line... why doesn't the automated system tell you they are closed for the night? The phone system at my college regional campus which has four employees can tell you to call back later when it is after hours. Last night I was on hold for 15 minutes before I realized that something was wrong.

My daughter, aged 12 and 5' 2.5" at the time, slept on one of the fold-down beds for two weeks in August and said it was really comfortable.

On Friday, May 10th, I have an ADR at Tusker House in AK scheduled for 8:25 am, before the park opens. Will I be able to get on a bus to AK or will I have to cab it?
