ok we are not going until august 2010, but already deciding where to stay, the rest of the family want to go back to cbr but have persuded them to try a different resort and think we would like to try port orleans, which one is the your favourite out of the 2 french quarter or riverside.

thanx :flower3:

Andrea

Stayed in POFQ last year. No real problems with it at all. Transport to the parks was frequent - although some services went via Riverside and the river taxi to DTD took about 15 minutes.

Food Court had a decent range of dishes and we used it a few times. The only table sevice restaurant was Boatwrights at Riverside - again, easily accessible by river taxi or walking.

We had a ground floor room right on the waterside BUT a bit of a trail from the car park when arriving or leaving with lots of luggage. Guest Services will help you out here.

hi :wave2: we stayed at riverside in July.ITS GREAT. depending where your room is, you might a bit of a walk to the foodcourt pool etc. My kids loved the pool plus riverside has quiet pools that the the FQ doesnt. the FQ is a mort compact resort so it depends if you dont mind a walk.

Ithink no matter what you choose you will love it.:cheer2:

I too am thinking the same thing for our 2010 trip but mainly because CBR is being charged £400 more to stay there than PO and i'm sorry but as much as we loved CBR I can't justify an extra £400 and i'm a bit miffed because all 3 hotels are Moderates and are the same price everywhere except on the UK Disney site

we are staying at pofq this aug, we havent stayed at cbr but have stayed at csr and this resort was huge. We liked the fact that fq is smaller and easier for food court etc

thank you both, cbr was a spread out resort, but we never minded the walk to the foodcourt etc, i feel that i am swerving more to riverside because of the quiet pools, when we stayed at the cbr and wanted a quiet evening away from the hustle and bustle of the parks. me and my dh used to go to the food court and get the food to take out, then we would all sit down to eat by the side of the quiet pool. as ds will be 16 and dd 14 and they wanted to visit downtown disney which they both loved and me and my dh did'nt want to go we could visit the lounge bar with the piano guy. one of the reason for our choice of port orleans is the different transport options for the kids.

We stayed at French Quarter last year and loved the resort especially because it was so compact. The pool is great and was never too busy. We had a walk over to Riverside (we hired a motor boat to go down the river) and it also looks lovely but a lot bigger.

Hi

We stayed at Riverside for 3 weeks in July 07 and we are again this year. It was our only choice to be honest as we love staying on site and its is the cheapest resort hotel to take 5 in a room (kids will be 12 10 and 5). Having said all that it was brilliant, loved every minutes, lovely resort seemed to be able to walk for ages, boat ride to and from DTD, which is great at the end of the day back to the hotel.

I would have liked us to try another resort hotel, but trying to get one room is difficult and as you have said, I am not paying hundreds of pounds more just for another room, after all, i dont intend being in it all day.

Anyway, to summarise, POR was brill and looking forward to it again this year. Plenty of pics if you want any

Cheers

Steve

We stayed at FQ for two weeks last May and loved it. Really peaceful, beautiful, and lovely and compact! Would stay there again like a shot!

I have stayed at POR and I really liked it, have pretty quiet resort however I would like to stay at POFQ sometime too. POFQ and POR are the only two Mods that appeal to me tbh.
