I'm sorry, but WHAT?!?!? :confused3 That sounds so specific a piece of information that it couldn't be random. Maybe someone is sneaking round putting queen-size mattresses into upper floor rooms only?

:lmao::rotfl::lmao:

Is there anyway you can get hired by WDW to be our special Disboards reservation person? Please!!!!

(Unless there really is a plan to add queen mattresses to existing rooms in the meantime to avoid the Garden View booking issues?)

I have no clue!! And she gave me some numbers that were in the 80's and thanks to my following here I knew those were not in the AB, even though she told me they were.I was even online...looking at a map telling her they werent in the AB and she still said they were!! She passed me onto a supposed "supervisor" who then told me she is calling the resort personally and although she cannot guarantee queen beds, we should get them. She did give me her direct line and name so I am hoping :worship:

I will be very disappointed if they simply slapped quuen mattresses on full box springs!

There is so much misinformation going around it's totally understandable why ppl are starting to freak out. U would think with a resort under major construction they would have high call volume about how the progress is going. Ppl are being promised things on the phone that the CM can not be sure 100% it's going to be granted.
The CM should be better informed. We had one that insisted that the royal rooms were located in magnolia terrace. And I mean INSISTED! :confused:She did not want to hear she was wrong either she told me she there and I'm in CT. I told her I maybe in CT but I can READ. Really? Then they wonder why they are going 100 calls a day on the same issue.
They should be able to say on thus day they r working in X building, this was completed and tomorrow they are here in X building.
It's all just making me nervous.

I think we will book the river view and then request 14 or 27. Even if we get 38, it can't imagine that it would be like the walk we had at CBR. Not that we're lazy, but it was freezing cold and my husband had to hike miles to refill his mug every morning. Ok, it probably wasn't miles, but it was a long walk.
I disliked CBR for multiple reasons but I'm sorry I am not walking to tim buck too everytime I want a drink in mug I paid for.
I only stayed at POR once for a few days but I never felt I was far from Chow Hall, heck I even felt closer to Chow Hall when I stayed in FAR Almost Sports Rock Inn At all star Music than I did at CBR.

I'm wondering if anyone has compared the far outskirts of the POP Century to POR? We stayed in POP one time and we were at the far end. It was a LONG DANG WALK at the end of the day. Just curious!

I booked in November when the room description said queen beds, I have made two polite calls since then expressing my concern with the change, and each time I am given the runaround that the queen is just a request, not guaranteed. This is pure nastiness on Disney's part. I just got off the phone with them now, and said I am ready to cancel the trip (again, very politely) and they said they were ready to take the cancellation. I am now soured on this trip.

Well the good news is that there are multiple bus stops at POR, unlike at pop. So there should be a stop closer to your room at the end of the day....shortening those long, long walks.

Are all the rooms in oak and paterre (sp?) going to be royal rooms? Where would be the best plqce to fund the location and room numbers of the garden view RRs in the oak building? Thanks

Yeah all rooms in Oak and Parterre are going to be RGRs.

I completely understand. My kids are 17 and 15. When I called the Disney Reservation number I asked to speak to a supervisor because I figured a regular CM could not solve my problem...but before I called I was planning to make sure at check in I was going to speak up to make sure I had queen beds. Good Luck with whatever you do.

So what did talking to a supervisor do for you? Im sorry, there has just been so much (mis) information around I just want to recheck. Like I said when I called, the guy insisted all of POR has queen beds, there was no reason for me to have a qn bed request. I booked early Aug and at that time we were guaranteed qn beds. We were debating on trying a different resort when we booked this but becuase it was to be refurbished and the bigger beds we knew it was a no brainer as POR is our favorite. But, I want to make sure we have queen beds and if not I want to know what I should say. I dont want to be rude, but I cant even get accurate information when I call now, so I doubt Ill know until we check-in and I want that to go as smooth as possible as we will be getting there after about 16 hours in the car, so we want to unload and nap.

Keep telling everyone to request a RGR in Oak! That way I'll hopefully get the room I want in Parterre! :cool1:

all this talk about queen beds makes me wonder if there are any couple that sleeps in double beds. There's no way hubster and I can sleep in a double! We tried once....it wasnt pretty :rotfl2:
I am okay sleeping with just my husband in a double, but add in the baby for part of the night, which is usually what happens, and we definitely need a Queen. This is partly why we booked a royal room; they'll have to guarantee one.

The furthest room at Pop to their food court seems to be about 450 yards (Google Earth's ruler tool is your friend; just draw lines along the paths). The furthest room at POR is about 500 yards. Worst case scenarios on both.

Andre

Had to switch to POR from POFQ to get free dining this April, but no problem! Can't wait!!! Haven't stayed here before, but we love POFQ, so I'm sure we're going to love POR too!

I had also booked when queen beds were the online description. After a long coversation...we were offered POFQ and CS but we told her if we really wanted to go there we would have booked there in the first place or changed when queen beds were not a guarantee ...so after being on hold forever she offered us a choice of a few deluxes and we said POLY!!!!

Do you need a room for 5? Then consider changing to French Quarter if there are rooms available. They have all queen beds.

Hi! I was hoping someone could give me some advice on what to do. I have two rooms on two reservations for a preferred location room. I called to link them up, request adjoining rooms, and request a mansion building. The CM said that would be Magnolia Terrace. I know now (didn't at the time) that preferred rooms should only be AB. I picked preferred for location (mother has some mobility issues and would appreciate the elevator), but I was under the impression that queen beds were not an issue. I see now that they are. Should I change my request from MT to AB 14? It doesn't look like any of the other AB preferred rooms will be done before we go (first week of June). Really confused. Thanks for your help.

I know some others can give you better advice as things are changing with the refurb and Im not on top of it all. But I can tell you there is no elevators, even in AB sections. You can request a lower level room, we always have to ask for a LL room becuase of DD4 and that has always been granted except once, but after we saw our room they switched us immed. IDK about views and buildings now though.
