Port Orleans or Coronado Springs

I have never stayed at PO but have stayed at CS and while not my favorite it was nice . It is big and we did do alot of walking however. We went last Aug. and it was not crowded. The buses were fast about every 5-10 min and uncrowded. The food was good although a little$$$. Rooms were neat and clean and the resort was quite. I would recommend it.

I wanted to stay at CSR last year when we went but it wasn't available with my discount so we stayed at POR. It was fabulous! I absolutely loved it. I would definitly stay there again. The food court was big and had a great selection of food and beverages. The grounds of POR are beautiful. We were in AB section but the entire property is gorgeous. They offer a carriage ride that we didn't do because of time restraints but it looked like such a fun thing to do. maybe next time!

When I began planning our upcoming trip, I also debated which of these same two moderates to choose. I did a LOT of research before making my decision to choose Coronado Springs. Here are some things that helped us make our decision. We are two adults traveling with no kids this trip.

Pros of BOTH: Beautiful grounds and wonderful themes, refrigerators in all rooms

PORT ORLEANS FQ Pros:
Smaller resort, less spread out means less walking.
Boat to DD
PORT ORLEANS FQ Cons:
No sit down restaurant, means more crowded food court
One pool - can get crowded

PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Pros
Boat to DD
Marina with boat and bike rental.
PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Cons
Shares bus transportation with Port Orleans French Quarter. Buses can be full at peak times, causing longer wait and transport times
Layout can be confusing especially in the dark.

CORONADO SPRINGS Pros
Newest Moderate
Feels more like deluxe with health spa and beauty salon
Best moderate pool
Great bus service

CORONADO SPRINGS Cons
Very large and spread out
Convention hotel (can be looked at pro or con...pro-pools practically empty in the daytime)

Can't help you out but I am curious to hear the replies of others. I too have the same question. I LOVE LOVE LOVE PO. That being said I have ressies for CSR for our next trip. I'm just hoping I LOVE CSR too. Right now, my heart belongs to PO but our family wants to try another resort. ::MickeyMo

CSR hands down. Great atmosphere, great bus service, great main and quiet pools, has water sport activites, has bike riding, has a health club, spa, hair salon. You can eat in three places there, the main pool, the Pepper Market and the Maya Grill. The CM's are awesome and very personable (at least to us they were). We always have a great time there!

We stayed at Coronado Springs for the first time in December. I thought it was great - but huge!! It took at least 20 minutes to walk from the gift shop to our room one night. Aside from that, it was a beautiful resort and very quiet. The bus service was very good as well.

We're going back in March and staying at POFQ. I've never stayed there before, so I can't tell you anything about it - yet! I'll let you know in 48 days!!

I think either one would be a great choice!

My husband & I stayed at the CSR 12/26-1/1/05. It was nice...food was good, bus service very quick & not overly crowded (even for Dec), and sevice was great! Our only complaint is thatthe place is HUGE! We were on the complete opposite end to the food court, gift shop, and front desk. We walked about 20 minutes to get to the main area. They need to put some kind of small mini-mart at the opposite ends. Just to pick up juice, soda, yogert, fruit, muffins etc. We are not big breakfast eaters...so to be able to pick something up a little quicker would be nice.

Otherwise we had no complaints. :teeth:

Port Orleans, both POFQ and POR are great. FQ is smaller and easier to get around. Some of the mansions at POR are close to the pool, bus stop, restaurant, etc.

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside years ago when it was Dixie Landings and absolutely loved it!!! Several years later we tried the Coronado Springs and were not as charmed by it. While researching these boards, you'll find lots of people who love CS, and everyone has their own reasons for one over another. Our vote is for POR!

We stayed in riverside in october and loved it,close to everything, when we go back next year will go there again.

The pro/con listed by NCBryne is very accurate and covers almost all areas. To add to that list is to cover additional info. regarding restaurants.

POFQ pro:
food court merely short walk away from room. Food court also convenient to use.
Con:
As stated above, no sitdown restaruant. Will have to go to PORS to eat at sitdown restaurant.

CSR pro:
Peppermarket (food court) certainly has a larger range of items to pick from than most other food courts.
con:
Peppermarket isn't as easy to maneuver the first time around (you have to walk around with a card that has to be stamped with food item). Additionally, depending on where your staying at the resort, the walk here can take several minutes (and as stated above if your traveling with children and want little things now and then, that walk can be a bit of a hinderance).

Both are wonderful resorts and no matter what choice you pick in the end, you'll have a wonderful trip.

Port Orleans French Quarter, we like Riverside too. And say if you are staying at POFQ than you can use everything at POR and vice versa.

Add our vote for POR. We have stayed at both, and CSR is beautiful, but we found it a bit spread out, and we really don't care for the convention atmosphere when we are on vacation.

We loved POFQ, the foodcourt is a little smaller, and you aren't going to have the health club and i think their might be a spa at CRO. But everything is close by, noise level is not a problem. Gift shop is a little smaller.

benieghs are the BEST breakfast item at POFQ! (you can only get them there!) and bus system was the best, close walk and little to no wait.
