A bit of Disney Magic is rubbing off on me and my family. I saw the Disney VISA offer this AM, applied for the credit card and was able to confirm a Water View Room at Port Orleans, French Quater, for May 2 through May 8 ($115.96 including tax).

Now, several questions that I hope experienced folks will be able to answer.

Through reading many of these threads, I have come to understand that there may be better buildings to stay at, as opposed to others, and by faxing in a request several days prior to arrival, you may be able to enjoy a little more Disney magic and actually get your choice of builidng and room (the fact that these rooms were recently refurbished rates high with my wife).

So, to avoid being any more longwinded, does anyone have any recommednations for a building at POFQ......I have two small kids (Ages 5 and 7) who are absolutely juiced about their trip to WDW.

Thanks.

Jay

Is it not worth the extra $15 a night to have water view and take the standard view (Parking lot or landscape)???

Hi,

We stayed in Bldg5 which looked out on the pool and was just steps from the food court. PO-FQ is a beautiful resort.

Enjoy your stay,
Lisa

we were in building 1 which is the farthest building out. The one I was told was the worst, we had no problems. FQ is such a nice size you do not feel far away from anything. Check some maps of FQ and then chose what you think is best for your family. I would not pay extra for views.

Were I paying for Water View, I'd want a view of the river, not the pool. As was suggested, take a look at the resort map and see what appeals to you. It is a smaller resort, so you're never far from anything. Building 5 is my favorite and that's what we're hoping for when we go in April.

we stayed in building #4 last year and loved it!! we were 10 seconds to the parking lot and bus stop, maybe 30 seconds to the food court and maybe a one minute walk to the pool...I personally wouldn't waste the extra money for the water view unless you really, really want to...the resort is so compact that you are never really very far away from anything.

Is building still a smoking building?
Just booked with a request for it. But with 3 ex smokers it might not be a good idea.

You said you just applied for the card this a.m. & were able to book a room? How did you do this? I just applied for mine but was under the impression I would have to wait on the card. Please advise!

You need to use code ctv.
Call asap because rooms seem to be going fast.
Just tell them you want to apply the code.
