Well, for us, it's an improvement. We waited 5 years, for our first trip! DD lives with 7 diagnossis, so I really wanted it to be as good as possible for her. In order to make sure we had $ for the whole 18 day trip, I put $200/month away for 60 months (5 years). It helped teach her lots of important things like the value of money, patience, perseverance, etc. We had a goal and we reached it.
This next time around, since she now knows about the grounds and the pace, and since we know we are very well treated with the wheelchair on Disney transportation, we don't need to be on monorail resort anymore. And we don't need to bring someone to help for the entire trip. (We may still travel with friends, if they're available.) Therefore, we can wait a little less longer to get the money we need for the next trip. She'll be 14 y.o. and 8 months. We will arrive on the very early morning of October 31st and attend the Halloween party. We will be on time for the Food (and Wine) festival and will do the first xmas party on November 8 before leaving for the 7 days cruise in West Carribean (Magic or Fantasy). We'll have one more day on debarking (probably Aquatica again) before taking the plane back.
We both cannot wait. But life being what it is, we'll be more than ready when October 31st, 2014 will come! (And yes, I take her out of school for Disney. She has a full time EA in school and they are more than happy to help so we can take 12 days off of school days!) There has to be some magic somewhere for a little (and growing) girl that works so hard physically, emotionally and intellectually to do everything we take for granted!
