Just back from our trip. Although we switched from POFQ to CSR, we had to go back and share a small order of beignets. We took the boat (Peter was the captain and a wealth of info for all the newbies) from DTD to the hotel and it is such a lovely ride. From what we could see it is Bldging 1 they are working on now. We were there Feb. 28 and the new refillable mugs were for sale; no more red, black yellow there. CSR still has the old ones. Make sure to try the trivia questions in the store--fun for us.

Everyone have a wonderful vacation!:goodvibes:goodvibes

IT IS OFFICIAL...

We will be spending the second half of our Trip at POFQ. This will be our first time on-site so our first time at POFQ. We will be at POP for 3 nights and then switching to POFQ for our remaining 4 nights. I am so excited. I cannot wait. Any suggestions on which building to request. I am looking for a bottom floor room. We have 2 children (4 and 8) I know the resort is small, so no worries for walking, but I am hoping for something quiet.

we are headed to POFQ for the first time this weekend! so excited. Its only a short weekend getaway but I can't wait to check out the resort.

Hoping for a refurbed room that does not look at a parking lot or maintenace area, a corner room would be nice but I dont want to push my luck, dont really want ground floor either LOL.

How should I best phrase that request? If I don't like the room can I pay to upgrade at check in?

We are arriving tomorrow for ESPN the Weekend. We want a corner room, ground floor, parking lot view. DH likes to roll out of the car and see the room straight ahead. We had bldg 1 in December and liked the location.
We are only staying 4 nights, but looking forward to getting "out of town" for a while.

If you look at my ticker it's official... POFQ first week of August. We got free dining that I upgraded to plus. We will have 3 rooms for the 6 of us, so it will feel like tons of room.

I am really excited and it feels great to see the ticker. We will be going to Daytona for 5 days beforehand, but I can always sneak away!!!

Ok, I'm just curious. How did you get Free Dining? That promotion has been closed since Dec. 20, 2010, and I'm curious because I've got friends that keep trying to book in Aug. when we go and they keep being told that the Free Dining promotion is closed and that it isn't being offered anymore. If you've got a tip, I'd love the know what it is?

Check out the discount codes and rates board; people have been getting pins for free dining.

We got a pin for free dining in August! It's for quick serve, but that's OK. I know we can upgrade to the ts ddp, but qs will work fine for us. We had to cancel our room only reservation and rebook with a package to use the pin code. I was glad we were still able to get a standard room at POFQ. CSR was our second choice.

Have your friends call WDW to see if there is a pin code under their name.

ETA an OT question: What are a lot of our tickers not showing?

I have a transportation question...

How can we get from POFQ to Saratoga Springs (Turf Club) for dinner? Can we take the boat to DTD and then transfer there? How long approx. would the whole trip take? Thanks~:flower3:

That would take a while. I'd consider a taxi as your quickest and easiest option. SSR is so close to POFQ that the fare wouldn't be too high.

Hi Guys!

Just wanted to drop a note b/c I am just so excited about my 1st POFQ trip! Only 3 more weeks-I can't wait!

Thanks to everyone on this thread, it has been so much fun to read everyone's comments and questions. :)

It is a lovely trip; I do it all the time.

The water taxi trip from POFQ to DTD takes about 12 minutes or so; then to transfer over, if the water taxi is waiting, is only about 6 - 7 minutes.

Again, you may have to wait a few minutes here or there, but it is faster than the buses. And it is a wonderful way to spend the evening.

Going back, you can either walk over to DTD and wander around for some shopping, or a drink at one of the bars (Turf Club does not have a bar per se) and then catch the water taxi back.

The great part is after 4 p.m. the water taxis run almost more frequently than the bus.

Are the water taxi docks next to each other? I know how to get to DD from POFQ just not sure where to get the boat from DD to SS. Thanks!

Will *every single room* (besides king bed rooms) have queen beds? I thought this was the case, but I read on another forum that someone had a renovated room in Building 6 and the beds were still doubles. :confused3

I'm hoping for queen beds. That's the main reason we switched from POR to POFQ.

Have been planning a return trip to WDW for two years with lots of changes. Originally was looking at POFQ for it's small size and mobility issues with my stepdad, but they decided they wanted a deluxe so we switched to BCV.

Then Feb snow did us in and we lost our connecting flights so we had to reschedule in September and could only get BC.

Now I've got it in mind to stick a solo trip on the end of the BC trip and I've decided that it's POFQ for my solo. Between the renovations and the fact that I really grew to love POFQ during my original planning I just couldn't resist a split stay.

So barring any other rescheduling I'll be in POFQ mid September.

Can't wait to get a bengiet.

I received an email with the free dining from Disney Destinations and the hard copy came in the mail today.

If is from 4/23 - 8/13. Value and Moderates receive Quick Service Dining and Deluxe get regular dining. It looks as though you need to book 5 nights, but that may be the example.

I am not sure why I got it. It is only the second I have ever received.

We did this. Took the boat from POFQ to DTD, got off the boat and walked the lighted path to The Turf club.

Boat maybe 15 minutes, walk around 10 minutes. It was nice. It was a romantic walk for us.

As far as we know, yes. I can't see why they would miss a few rooms out. (Accessible rooms have King beds anyway, which would otherwise have been the only reason I could think of for which they'd still need to use the smaller beds)
