Hello! We are cruising on the Magic for the first time out of Port of Miami this Christmas (have previously only ever cruised out of Port Canaveral). I saw on Mousesavers.com they recommend staying at Comfort Suites Miami Airport North because it's the only hotel in the area offering free shuttle from Miami airport and free shuttle to Port of Miami.

Anyone ever stayed at Comfort Suites Miami Airport North that can offer feedback?

Anyone ever arranged transportation from Port of Miami back to Miami airport they would suggest?

Reading through the threads to learn as much as we can about Port of Miami, any special advice about that port is helpful too.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

For transportation, I recommend sticking with DCL.

LOVE Miami!! :)

I have not stayed at Comfort Inn - I'm a Hilton brands girl. I loved the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon though!

For Port to Airport when I was on Disney I did DCL transfers. Both times I was on fathom I used Lyft and had no issues with them.

We've sailed out of Miami twice and we did things differently both times. First, there are two possible airports you could come into, either MIA (Miami) or FLL (Ft. Lauderdale). We always fly Southwest since they offer a direct flight into FLL. The first time we sailed out of Miami, we stayed right downtown. There's a lot of shopping and dining and we arrived mid day so it was nice to have something to do that afternoon and evening. A taxi from downtown to the port is cheap, like $10 or less. You could probably use something like Lyft for even cheaper.

I wouldn't necessarily base your hotel decision on a shuttle to port. There are other methods of transportation and other hotels that may offer you more for the same or even less money. I wouldn't let that be my deciding factor.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites (recommended by Mousesavers) and it was great! Absolutely no complaints. Nice hotel, great staff, good free breakfast, and the transportation was all handled seamlessly. It was the easiest and cheapest option for us and we had no regrets. If I had had more time in Miami, I would have stayed in another area but if you're just flying in for the cruise, it's a safe option.

We took a Lyft out for dinner; not pricey at all.

I've been researching for months and I always go back to comfort suites because it has it all. The only thing we don't like is the pool but it's still a pool just not the best. Most hotels we've come across don't have many restaurants near by comfort suites at least has a McDonald's subway and IHOP close by and others taxi ride away. Can't beat the airport and cruise shuttle. The reviews are majority positive and the rooms look great.

I've stayed at the Comfort Suites near the Miami airport, and it was a good stay. They picked us up with their free shuttle at the airport. The next day we took their cruise shuttle to the port. After our cruise, we walked out of the port, and we were pointed toward the taxi area. Paid a flat fee to go to the Miami airport. I just checked their website, and the flat fee is $27

We flew into FLL and stayed in a Fort Lauderdale hotel the night before the cruise because both were cheaper than anything I could find in Miami. The SAS shuttle was only $13 per person (group of 6) so shuttle costs are not a significant deciding factor.

We had a good stay at Comfort Suites as well. The only caveat was we had to wait a bit for the airport shuttle (about 25 minutes) and we had to pass a group waiting at another terminal because the van was already full. I think we happened to arrive when many other flights were arriving. I'd read a few reports of this on TripAdvisor, so I was somewhat mentally prepared.

The port shuttle was super efficient. Since we were arriving pretty late at night (cruise the next day), I called the morning of check-in to be put on the list for the time slot we wanted.

I can also vouch for the Comfort Suites Miami Airport North. We called them when we landed - they showed up for us right away. The room was nice, and it was an easy walk down to Subway for dinner.
The next morning it was a little chaotic waiting and loading the port shuttle, but they got us there on time.
After the cruise taxis were lined up for an easy ride back to the airport.
