Port of Call in Nassau

We are traveling in the spring on Disney Magic with a port of call in Nassau. Does anyone have a rec for their favorite excursion? My husband and I are considering staying on the ship that day. The issue being that we have two toddlers, and either want something that isn't too hard on them or something age appropriate-- I don't think the waterslides or dolphins are available for a 3 year old who can't swim yet. Does anyone prefer to stay on the ship on Nassau? I have FOMO.
Thanks!

imo you will be fine on the boat if you have two toddlers you are worried about. not much to see/do in nassau that they can enjoy

Staying on the ship is a fine choice. If you do want to go somewhere, the Ardastra Gardens Zoo is small and child-friendly — that’s the only excursion my family did (in 4 cruises) until our kids were old enough for the chocolate-making tour.

First cruise we stayed on the ship, but on our second, we purchased day passes for the Hilton that's about a 10 minute walk from the boat. There were a total of five people on the hotel's beach and the food wasn't that bad either. Also, the WiFi worked like a charm.

We love staying on the ship. Not as crowded. More relaxing, etc. we have done the Atlantis water park excursion in the past and found the lines too long for the slides. The lazy river is nice and quite fun, but perhaps a little dangerous, believe it or not. Large scars on my arm from 4 years ago to prove it. In the future we plan to remain on the ship. Hope you have a great time whatever you choose!

I second the Hilton for a nice beach day. It's an easy walk from the ship, they have a nice beach area and freshwater pool. The day pass includes a food and drinks credit. Children under 5 are free.

Out of our three cruises, we have stayed on the ship twice! Especially in the morning, the ship is not as crowded and its nice to go swimming or walk around without as many people. On our last cruise, we did do a tour of Atlantis. While it was a great experience, we probably wouldn't get off the ship again. To us, the experiences on the ship outway Nassau. Especially with young ones, you don't need to worry about FOMO. If you really wanted, right at the end of the dock is the big "WELCOME TO THE BAHAMAS" sign. Snap a family picture and head back to the ship! At least you could say you've "been there"!

We did the Blue Lagoon excursion in Nassau (with RCL but I'm sure they all have them). It was a really nice few hours. The water is quite calm too with little ones.

After several cruises I'm a huge fan of staying on the ship in Nassau - it's just not my favorite island. We've done a variety of excursions (Atlantis tour, dolphin swim, a snorkel trip) but now we're glad to just enjoy the boat. It's less crowded, at least early in the day, so it's a nice opportunity to enjoy enjoy the ship and get plenty of pics. There aren't nearly as many activities on board as there would be on a sea day, but that's ok with us. I think it's just a matter of what you enjoy. Also, I'm not sure how many days you're sailing and whether that would impact your decision. If it's a 3 night, I'd definitely not feel the need to get off the boat in Nassau since you get so little ship time during the short trips (which is what we most often sail). I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you choose to do. Have a great trip!

Such a great idea, thanks!
