I understand that some cruise lines charge for port fees and this has to be paid on board. Is this something we have to pay extra or is this included in the price of Disney Cruises please.

The port fees are included in the price of the Cruise...

Every cruise line we have ever sailed includes the port fees right in the cruise fare...I have never heard of having to pay the port fees while onboard.

Some cruiselines in their advertisements show the cruise price without including the port fees/taxes to make the price look lower to entice you...but it is always included in the final price when you make payment. They usually show the port taxes in fine print in an advertisement as they have to advise of them or it would be deceiving.

I believe that lines that market to/in the US must now include port charges in their advertised price. Sometimes, when a port is missed, they will actually refund the part of your fare which represented port charges. Usually a few bucks, I think. Taxes are still extra and not listed as part of the price.

I think I remember some poeple saying that their balance was a few dollars more when they went to pay it off. It was due to the port fees going up. I am pretty sure I read that on here, maybe I am crazy.....

Possibly if they change the itinerary to a different port which has a higher fee?

This is just a guess....

Correct....any port fee increases are usually passed on to the passenger.

WHen you book a year or two out the port fees can go up for your normally scheduled ports of call. In this case DCL does pass the cost on to use, the guests.
