Port Everglades & own transportation

Hey there -

We are doing the land/sea and I booked our own transportation (not Disney's).

We are on the 9/26 Wonder cruise and I ~Wonder~ (haha) if I should look into some other type of transportation -- or indeed what is there to look into?

I know that the Happy Limos & Tiffany Towncars will go from Orlando to Port Canaveral, but wouldn't the cost be quite a bit to go via shuttle van or limo to Port Everglades -- ??

Or better still -- I am worrying too much -- is it a possibility that Port Canaveral will be open by the 26th?

I'd say that unless there are more storms that affect the Port? You'll more than likely be sailing out of Port Canaveral on the 26th -- they are trying to get it opened up again as quickly as possible. They have to dredge the sand that moved in - I think after that, the boats will be able to get back in again...

We are on the 9/25 Magic and I am hoping we can sail out of Port Canaveral as all my plans are in place...but....if for some reason we are sailing out of a different port I will rent a car and drive myself to whatever port we are sailing from.

My flight is already booked into Orlando so I would just rent a car and drive south.....I would not even bother trying to change my flight into FLL....we have driven from NY to FL before so a 3 hour or so drive is no big deal!!!

I have, however, already resigned myself to the fact that we probably will not be getting to Castaway Cay.

Oh gosh, there are 6 of us with all of our luggage so renting a car would be a pricey deal...we'd need a van for sure.

Fees for parking at Port Everglades:

Convenient parking for cruise passengers and Navy ship visitors is available in the Northport or Midport Parking Garage. Garages are well-illuminated, security-patrolled, designed to accommodate RVs and buses, and provide handicapped parking with unimpeded access to crosswalks and elevators. All parking facilities charge $2 for 0-1 hour, $5 for 1-5 hours, and then $1 per hour thereafter up to a maximum daily fee of $12, and $15 for oversized vehicles up to 40 ft.
