I have recently been diagnosed by the VA as 100% disabled. In the past we used the Port parking lot at the terminal, but it's been awhile since we sailed from PC. As I recall, payment was made in advance at the entrance to the garage, and was an automated process with no attendant. One of the benefits for a 100% disabled vet with a DV Florida license is free parking. I'm wondering if anyone knows how the free entrance to parking is done? Thanks!

It sounds like you just have to be in the vehicle with the DV plates and the rep will waive the fee.

Per the Port Canaveral parking website:

DISABLED PARKING spaces are available, and the fee is waived for vehicles transporting certain persons who have disabilities that:
  • Have special equipment, such as ramps, lifts, foot or hand controls for use by a disabled person OR
  • Display a Florida Toll Exemption Permit as explained in s. 316.1964, Florida Statutes OR
  • Display a Florida Disabled Veteran (DV) license plate issued under s. 320.084, s. 320.0842, or s. 320.0845, Florida Statutes
Parking agents will not grant parking waivers for any other reason than those listed above.
NOTE: No reservations are needed. Ship schedules and assigned terminals are subject to change. Please check with your travel agent or cruise line for the latest information on where you will be embarking.

There is always an attendant now - for embarkation and debarkation mornings. They help with paying when you enter the garage and for scanning your ticket/paying extra when you leave the garage.
