Cruising in June 2018 out of Port Canaveral. We'll fly into Orlando. We're looking for a hotel for the night before. What are your favorites, and why? Will have 4 kids -- 2 7-year-olds and 2 9-year-olds.

Actually like the one in the airport. Can't really get much more convenient. Good breakfast. You can also get a "day use" room on your day back if you have a later flight home. Very nice when you have tired, cranky kids waiting hours for an airplane when everyone has the post cruise blies.

We stay at a WDW resort. Use DME to get from the airport to the resort then get a one way car rental from the disney car care center and drop it off at the port. Our family consists of three and a full size runs us about $80 and fits our luggage without any issues (usually one garment bag, two large suitcases, a couple carry ons and backpacks).

If we have APs or tickets at the time we will dine at a resort near whatever park we want to go to that night and usually end up seeing one of the night time firework shows.

Dinner at Cali Grill and Happily Ever after...Dinner at Jiko and River of Light, etc etc etc

The big question is what time do you arrive at the MCO airport? If you arrive early in the day, or even afternoon, you might like to drive down to PC that day (about an hour's drive). There are some good hotels near the Port. But if you are arriving in the late afternoon or evening, you probably will do better to stay at a hotel near the airport and drive/transport to the port the next morning. We got in about 7PM and by the time we got our luggage and left the airport. All we wanted to do was eat and sleep, and a drive to the port at that time would have been no fun.

Last year we stayed at the Radisson Resort at the Port and will probably stay the night before on our April 2018 cruise (after a few days at Universal). The kids love the pool there and its so easy and relaxing to get up and to the port in the morning.
