Hi!

My family and I will have a lot of cruises departing from PC in 2021-2022. I think we have tried it all: pre-cruise stay at WDW, Universal… We are about to try the pre-cruise stay from Hyatt at MCO (will be very useful, especially since we’ll arrive in the evening on our next cruise).

I hear a lot of good things about a Cocoa Beach stay…

DH and I do not drive. No drivers license either. Car rental is not an option.

Do you know of a good Cocoa Beach hotel (ideally ocean front) who offer either free transportation from MCO airport/affordable transportation from MCO?

We like to try new things. :)

Thanks in advance.

It's really far for any hotel to provide transportation. There may be some independent shuttles - though I think those are usually for the days of cruises.

Honestly your best bet will probably be a ride-share like Lyft of Uber if you're even able to find someone willing to take that ride on a day when the odds of getting a fare back are probably slim. Or maybe a pricey car service. Though you'll be pretty stuck with Lyft/Uber/Taxi to do anything when you're there.

Cocoa Beach/Port Canaveral is too far away for any of the hotels to offer free airport transfers, but some of the hotels will book a package that includes them for a fee. If you search for a Fly,Snooze,Cruise package, you will get some results. Look carefully as booking the transfers separately may save money.

As other posts have mentioned, the port is about 45-50 minutes from MCO. So no shuttles that I am aware of that would be complimentary. Once you are at your hotel, at the port, some offer shuttles to the port for a nominal charge. This was pre-covid, of course. Try this link- https://www.goport.com/fly-snooze-cruise/orlando-airport for those special fly and snooze packages. Good luck!

You're going to need a private shuttle or ride share to the hotel. There are hotels on Cocoa Beach that offer shuttle service to the port

We stayed at the Radisson Resort at the Port for our cruise wedding a few years ago. Not oceanfront, but an awesome pool/hot tub area! I know they offer Stay & Cruise packages with transportation options, so it might be worth checking out.

If it's just 1-4 people, I'd just check into Uber/Lyft. You can price it out beforehand so you'd have an idea. If you go with a shuttle service, we booked Happy Hour Shuttle for our group and I would recommend them for sure! Very easy to work with, on time, no trouble finding them at the airport.

Radisson at the Port has a package that will pick you up at the airport, to the hotel, then to the cruise and back I believe. Otherwise you could look at packages through Go Port Canaveral, though I am not sure how they are doing after the pandemic. Or Cocoa Beach Shuttle will pick you up at the airport and take you to the port area. If you are arriving later though I'd suggest just staying at an airport hotel and using their shuttles to/from the airport and picking shuttle service to/from the cruise. I used Cortrans in 2018 and they picked us up at the hotel near the airport to take us to the port. Again, pre-Covid so who knows which of these companies will still be around :(
