Which carriers accept bags at the port?

Our flight is at 3:55 with Delta. We are planning on getting a Day Room at the Hyatt. Will we be able to check our bags at the port? If not, what about with the sky cap? I know there is a time limitation on checked luggage. Does anyone know?

Don't quote me but I believe that checking your bags at the port is only available if you use DCL transportation.

According to the Passporter...

AA, Delta, Northwest, Us Air, and Continental are the carriers at the port that check bags.

Unless it's changed, when we cruised in 2002 we used Continental and chacked our bags and did not use DCL transfers. The Passporter didn't say you had to use DCL transfers...anyone out there recently check their bags without using DCL transfers ?

Was changed in '04 I believe, to be only for people using DCL transfers. Not sure if they are still enforcing that change or not.

We were able to do it in January 04 with USAIR, but I believe they changed in March or so. But regardless if you have one of the carriers they use for your flight, get the DCL transfers back to the airport and you will be fine. I don't think they ask whether you will have a day room or not, they just want to know if you are going to the airport and on DCL.

DCL transfers are required now and it does not matter what time your flight is. We used a towncar to get to the port and then purchased DCL transfer back to the airport so that we could use this service. We had a 6 pm flight.

Just an update as I was really concerned we'd have to schlep all our luggage around after the cruise...

I contacted my DU TA and she called DCL and checked with them and she said...

"I checked with Disney Cruise Line and they advised you should be able
to check in with Continental Airlines at the port for your flight and
check your luggage at that time. The Cast Member I spoke with advised
that the desk at the port was actually staffed with Continental employees
and had nothing to do with DCL transportation."

Hope it helps...

Not sure that's entirely accurate, however.....while the baggage area is run by the individual airlines, in order to GET into that area we had to show that we had the DCL transfers. Mind you, that was a year ago, so....

One of those things that I suggest another call to DCL and see what another CM tells you.
