Port Arrival Time

We will be leaving from AKL by car service at 10:30am. What port arrival time should I select? 11:30am? We are a party of 5 adults and taking the Fantasy November 6-11 if that matters.

Can I ask which car service you're using? We've contemplated using Disney's transportation, but I'm sure there is a better option out there.

I would say that an hours drive from AKL to the Port would be about right, unless you are planning a grocery stop.

Select the 11:30 time slot if available. It takes between 45 minutes and an hour to get from WDW to the terminal, then you’ll have to wait in line if there’s a backlog at security.

Nothing is easier than the DCL bus, but it costs a lot if your party is 4 or more, and you arrive later than some prefer. You could get there as late as 1 PM, but you will not wait in line and walk right on. We prefer arriving early and do not mind the crowd in the terminal before they let the first guests onboard, so we prefer using a car service. We have used Tiffany, FL Tours and Happy Limo in the past. All are pretty much the same unless you get into specialty services like stretch limos or other larger vehicles. You could also simply use a Lyft/Uber, They should cost less than the limo services.

One upside of Disney transportation from the resorts is that you typically arrive after the staterooms are open, so you can go straight to your room to drop off your hand luggage. If you arrive early (and are non-concierge), you will have to tote it around with you until staterooms open.

Absolute great advice. This is how we always have done it. My only concern going forward is we don't know yet what Disney will do with crowds in the terminal. I was reading the UK cruises had STRICT port arrival times. I hope when US cruises start up again the same procedures will be in place as pre pandemic but I am doubtful that will happen.
